Kundapur, Jul 25: A man died as he fell into road side storm water drain at Halladi-Varkady under Kota police station limits on Monday July 24.
The deceased is identified as Gokuldas Prabhu (54), a local resident and home food products manufacturer.
Prabhu had been to Makkimane near Harkady in order to buy daily grocery. Incessant rains were reported in the area. As he did not return for a long time, his son went in search for him. He saw Prabhu lying in the storm water drain. Prabhu was brought up with the help of neighbours but he had breathed his last.
It is said that he must have slipped while going to the shop and fell into the storm water drain. He is survived by wife and two sons.
Kundapur tahsildar Shobhalaxmi visited the spot. Kota station officer Shambulingaiah registered a case in this regard.
