Make Sadananda Gowda New CM - Recommends Yeddyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network

Bangalore, Jul 31: After resigning as the chief minister of Karnataka, Yeddyurappa has now urged the high command through the media that Sadananda Gowda should be made the new chief minister of the state, as he has vast experience having been in some of the top positions in the state.

Udupi-Chikmaglur Lok Sabha MP Sadananda Gowda has worked as the state BJP president and also as opposition leader in the assembly. He has served as MLA as well as MP during his political life, and should be considered as a chief ministerial candidate, Yeddyurappa urged.

The BJP high command camping at Ashoka Hotel is expected to announce the new CM by tonight. Sources close to BJP say that before the beginning of the new parliamentary session in Delhi on Monday August 1, BJP wants to appoint a leader for the state.

Yeddyurappa denied all the charges made by Lokayukta Santosh Hegde, and said that he would fight unitl he gets the justice. He will work for the betterment of the party, and try to strengthen it. His main aim is get at least 150 seats in the next assembly elections, and 25 MP seats in parliamentary election, he said.

He also said that he has enormous satisfaction about performing his duty as the CM. Investments worth thousands of crores of rupees from foreign as well as Indian companies and the metro train project in Bangalore are some of his best achievements that give him a sense of pride, he said.

He did not forget to take potshots at the opposition, and said that right from day one, Congress and JD(S) have targeted him and never allowed him to carry out enough development works. The opposition did not allow him to hold the assembly sessions peacefully either, he said.

End of a Chapter: Yeddyurappa Becomes Former CM of Karnataka

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 31: The final chapter of the three-year B S Yeddyurappa regime, of a CM who single-handedly brought the BJP government into power in Karnataka, and indeed for the first time in South India, closed on Sunday July 31 at 4 pm, when Yeddyurappa reached the Raj Bhavan by foot from his Race Course Road residence to tender his resignation, along with hundreds of supporters.

The 'walk' drama began at 3.35 pm from his residence, along with some senior leaders like Sadanand Gowda, the Reddy brothers, Basavaraj Bommai, C M Udasi and others.

In a brief interaction with the media during his walk, Yeddyurappa said that there are about 75 MLAs, 20 MLCs and 15 MPs taking part in the walk with him.

Onlookers for a moment were confused whether this was a walk to tender resignation, or an exhibition of strength to the world through media or a 'Padayatra' for a cause! But the signals were very clear that Yeddyurappa wanted to show his support to the high command with this walk.

At 4 pm, Yeddyurappa reached the Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to the governor officially. His supporters, legislators and parliamentarians also accompanied him inside the Raj Bhavan.

His resignation read only one line - "I am resigning from the post of chief minister of Karnataka."

With this, Yeddyurappa's controversial rule of three years comes to an end, ironically, over yet another controversy. He saved his chair three times in three years, but Santosh Hegde's mining report was too much to handle even for the master survivor.

A couple of 'suicide attempts' were reported from the state, one from North Kanara, where a 50-year-old man tried to kill himself in protest of Yeddyurappa's resignation. In another incident reported from Bangalore, a youth lay on the road to get killed by passing vehicles. Both were arrested by police, it is reported.

Yeddyurappa was supposed to reach the Raj Bhavan at 2.30 pm, but at the eleventh hour, another drama was reported from the CM residence, and mediapersons got an explosive news that Yeddyurappa had refused to step down until the name of his successor was announced.

"Let the high command name the new leader, then I will resign," the CM reportedly told his close aid Prabhakar Kore who conveyed this message to the BJP high command leaders who are residing at the Ashoka Hotel.

But Yeddyurappa did give his resignation, and finally stepped down from the coveted post.

Governor Asks Yeddy to Continue in Office till Successor is Chosen

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 31: Karnataka governor H R Bhardwaj has accepted the resignation of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and his council of ministers with immediate effect.

Yediyurappa become scapegoat of politics. He was better for present the opposition of karnataka. He never did revenge politics. If Sadananda Gowda takes then he will teach lesson to these oppositions. They are much scared. Congress & JDS never thought BSY will  resign.

THE HIGH COMMAND SHOULD A NEW CM THEMSELVES AND NOT LISTEN TO YEDDY OR THE SAME LOOTING WILL START LIKE BEFORE MINUS YEDDY. YEDDY WANTS TO HOLD THE KEY BY MAKING HIS MAN THE CM. Four days of anxiety for Yeddyurappa's family ended in gloom and despair on Sunday evening. Yeddyurappa's daughter Umadevi was in tears as he left his Race Course residence to Raj Bhavan at 3.45pm to submit his resignation to the governor. His family has been going through a tough time ever since the Lokayukta named Yeddyurappa and family members in his report on illegal mining. At one point on Saturday, sources said an angry Yeddyurappa shouted at his sons BY Raghavendra (Shimoga MP) and BY Vijendra saying: "It all happened because of you people. Just get out of my sight."

Vijendra was speechless after his father resigned. "We weren't expecting it. It's injustice and all my father's supporters are angry," he said. Raghavendra and Yeddyurappa's son-in-law R Sohan Kumar were dejected and refused to say anything.

Yeddyurappa lost his wife Mythradevi in 2004. She drowned in a sump in the family house in Shikaripur (Shimoga). Yeddyurappa has three daughters - Arunadevi, Padmavati and Umadevi and all basked in the glory of their father who took over as the first BJP chief minister in South India in May 2008.

Who will repair the damage done to the Nature by these politicians?

Britishers who have ruled India have not done such damage to Mother India during their period of rule.

Most of the Iron Ore has gone to China for less price, the neighbour which India is worried all the time for their growth and military power.

Good Bye Yeddy......Enough is enough.. Your deeds has brought you this destiny. you looted wealth, brought in corruption, communal violence, etc.. now go & spend time with your last days of your life with your family.

The next CM should take a lesson from Yeddi's episode, corruption can bring any leader to his knees no matter how big/populer he is.
Yeddi's exit is good news for the state.
