Kaup: Pedestrian crossing road killed on spot as bus runs over him

Kaup, Jul 27: A pedestrian, who was crossing the road was killed as a speeding bus hit him in front of CSI church at Muloor on NH 66 on Wednesday July 26 night.

The deceased is identified as Chandrashekhar (52). He was native of Muloor but residing currently at Suratkal. He had come to Muloor to attend a Mari Pooja.

Chandrashekhar was crossing the road in order to go back to his home at Suratkal, when the private bus ran over him. He died on the spot.

The deceased is survived by wife, son and daughter. Chandrashekhar’s brother had also died in a road accident in Bengaluru seven years ago.

Kaup police have registered a case in this connection.

    Please wear reflective clothing or retro-reflective rain jacket during rainy season so that the drivers may notice you even during poor visibility.

    I strongly agreed with Jossey City limit speed to be find and... Strong law for blood money compensation to deceased family from bus owner/driver and hence automatically speed, care and life value awareness will create.

    Speed limit is 100. And how can you say he was driving recklessly? Pedestrians should also be carefull, was he blind? Couldn't he see the bus coming from far away?

    This specific bus has reckless drivers. I have encountered this bus many times on highway and they drive like they are driving an ambulance.
