Bengaluru, Jul 28: The number of pilgrims arriving at temples after the announcement of Shakti scheme for women has increased considerably. The offertory boxes of temples are filled to the brim. So far. Rs 25 crore is accumulated in the offertory boxes of 58 Muzrai temple of Karnataka.
From June 11 till July 15, there is enormous increase in the revenue of temples of state. In only one month, Rs 25 crore is accumulated in 58 temples. The amount for the corresponding period last year was just Rs 19 crore.
In E-Hundi from June 11 to July 15, a whopping Rs 24.47 crore is generated. Compared to last year, this amount is more by Rs six crore. So far, only E-hundis of eminent temples are opened and manual ones are yet to be checked.
According to the details provided by Muzrai department for the period of June 11 to July 15, the income of Chamundeshwari temple of Mysuru was Rs 3.63 crore against Rs 48 lac of last year. Kukke Subramanya temple recorded a revenue of Rs 11.16 crore against Rs 11.13 crore of last year. Yediyoor Siddalingeshwara temple of Tumakuru district collected an amount of Rs 1.48 crore against Rs 1.2 crore for the same period last year. Huligemma Devi temple of Koppala reported an income of Rs 1.41 crore against Rs 1.02 crore last year. Mahalingeshwara temple of Dakshina Kannada accumulated Rs 48 lac against Rs 43 lac last year.
