Bantwal: Young man dies in bike-bus collision in Kalladka

Bantwal, Jul 30: A tragic accident occurred in Kalladka on Vittal road, when a private bus collided with a bike, resulting in the death of a young man named Latish.

Latish, a resident of Kalladka's Goltamajalu Murabailu, was working as a mechanic in Mangaluru. On the fateful Sunday of July 30, he had gone to Panolibailu temple in the morning and was returning home when the accident happened in Kalladka.

As he was riding, a speeding private bus from Vittal, belonging to Selina, collided with his bike. The collision left Latish seriously injured, and he was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Despite being admitted to the ICU and receiving critical treatment, Latish tragically succumbed to his injuries in the evening.

Traffic S I Suthesh visited the accident site, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident.

    every-time we should not blame on city or service buses. other day when student of srinivas college hit the divider and pole near adyar. imagine the speed of the bike . youngsters should think several times accelerating the two wheelers to high speed.

    Its sad and very tragic every now and then when we hear of a motorcycle being hit by a private transport public bus. These private transport public buses must be regulated for speed and driver responsibility and consequences to be licensed to carry passengers as a public bus First and foremost our Traffic or Transport Dept. must ensure strict discipline on licensing such buses technically and as well for safety of passengers and those using roads in presence of these crazy buses. The speeds of these and all public buses must be regulated by putting a lock on the speed pedal or accelerator pedal in a workshop specialized in this job. This in turn will not allow a bus driver, however irresponsible or drunk, to driver the bus beyond its max adjusted speed. The Traffic Police job is to ensure to book any bus or car that exceeds its speed at any given stretch of road, such as inside the town or city to max 25km, outside the town or city to 35km,m and 50km on the highway or for rash driving. These speed limits are public bus limits in any country, but in Udupi and Mangalore these private buses are highly abusive of these speeds and regulations mainly because the Traffic Dept. is bribed by he owners of these public transport private bus owners. These private buses race against the other private transport public buses and any passenger travelling from Udupi to Mangalore or from Udupi to Karkala or from Udupi to Kundapura will vouch for this, and I being one using these crazy buses, will vouch for it.
