New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M. Venkaiah Naidu Tuesday said his party favoured a strong Lokpal bill which can also probe the prime minister.
"We are in favour of a strong Lokpal which has the prime minister in its ambit," Naidu told reporters outside parliament.
The BJP leader, however, added that the party will disclose its stand on the other aspects of the bill after it is tabled in the two houses in the current session.
"When the debate on the bill takes place, we will disclose our stand," he said.
The main contention between the government and civil society on the Lokpal bill is inclusion of the prime minister within the ambit of Lokpal.
