Dubai: Karnataka Islamic Centre's 'Ahlan Ramadan' Focusses on Piety

Dubai, Aug 2: Under the aegis of the national committee of Karnataka Islamic Centre (KIC), ‘Ahlan Ramadan’ and annual general body meeting were organized recently at Nassir Square Hall here, after the Friday Namaaz.
The programme was presided over by Moidin Kutty Haji Dibba, honorary president of the committee. It started with prayers by Zainul Abidin Shaffi of Indian Islamic Centre. Committee president, Abdul Razack Bulelrikatte, welcomed. Hamid Musliyar Neerkaje recited verses from the Holy Quran.
Abdulla Madumoole, a chartered accountant from Abu Dhabi, who inaugurated the function, asked all the faithful to solemnly observe Ramadan. He said that repeated prayers, working for the upliftment of the community and progress of the religious and educational centres of the community will tantamount to serving the Lord. He noted that the original motives behind Islamic principles were being presented in a morphed and distorted manner through the use of modern gadgets. He praised KIC and like-minded organizations for taking this as a challenge and presenting the actual facets of Islam that are beautiful, peaceful and original, before the society.
In the meantime, KIC’s website, www.kicuae.com was inaugurated by Mohammed Mubarak Gharim Al Kaushan, who extended his best wishes for the progress of the website.
Alhaj Sirajuddin Faizhi Uppalige, who participated in the programme on a special invitation, speaking on the subject of Ahlan Ramadan, explained that the relevance of observing Ramadan has become all the more important because of the mechanical way of modern living and undue importance being given to grandeur and glittery. He said that Ramadan is the ideal occasion to refine and purify one’s life and thoughts, apart from enriching one’s soul, and called upon the people to make full use of the occasion through austerities, prayers and meditations. He laid emphasis on developing devotion and service-mindedness in the hearts, to help the people and earn the blessings of Allah. While praising the active participation of KIC committee members in its activities, he recollected the services of Karnataka Islamic Academy Kumbra in Puttur taluk, which runs because of the services of these activists.
Mustaq, managing director of Millennium Holding, Najeeb, secretary of Indian Islamic Centre, Shafi Bajpe of EIF, Sayyid Abid Mohmud, Altaf Farangipet, M D Ashraf of Coastal Digest, and Abdul Karim of Paragaon Group, who were the chief guests at the dais, also spoke on the occasion.
Abdussalam Bappalige, Basheer Vittal, Shariff Kavu, Ashraf Khan, and Ashraf Parladka presented various programmes. Noor Mohammed presented the programme, while Badruddin Hentar proposed vote of thanks.
