New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS): Social activist Anna Hazare must have faith in parliament, said Law Minister Salman Khurshid Thursday.

The draft of the Lokpal bill will be tabled in parliament Thursday.

"You either have faith in parliament or don't have faith in it. Anna's team needs to have faith in parliament," Khurshid told reporters outside parliament here.

"The bill has been given the kind of importance and attention that it deserves. It has been researched and the methodology is keeping in mind the people," Kurshid added.

The main contention between the government and the civil society representatives led by Hazare is the inclusion of the prime minister within the ambit of Lokpal (ombudsman).

The proposed legislation does not bring the prime minister under the purview of Lokpal during his term in office but once he demits office, he may be investigated for any wrongdoing during his term.

It also excludes the judiciary and any action of an MP inside parliament or parliamentary committee.
