Mangaluru, Aug 15: A 52-year-old man's lifeless body was discovered on the Ullal seashore on the morning of August 14.
The deceased has been identified as Lokesh, a 52-year-old mason hailing from Kumble's Bambrana.
Lokesh's 26-year-old son, Rajesh, had gone missing on July 10 and his body was tragically found two days later in the Bengre Nethravathi river. Stricken with profound grief over the loss of his son, Lokesh had been grappling with depression.

On August 14, Lokesh sent a WhatsApp message to several contacts, revealing his intentions. The message stated, "I am going to Someshwar and will jump into the sea. My body might be found at Ullal. I will not take my mobile with me and will leave it at home."
Alarmed by the WhatsApp message, local residents attempted to reach Lokesh's mobile, which was answered by his family members. Upon discovering that he had left the house, the matter was immediately reported to the Ullal Police. Tragically, Lokesh's lifeless body was recovered at 11 am on the Ullal seashore.
Lokesh's suicide came 33 days after the tragic demise of his son, underscoring the deep emotional pain he had been enduring.
