Mangalore: Shootout at Moodigere - Padubidri Man Dies

Mangalore, Aug 6: Kalandar, a 30-year-old cattle merchant from Padubidri here who was shot at by an unindentified assailant on the morning of Saturday August 6, passed away in a private hospital in the city.
He was shot at in Handpost area of Moodigere taluk, Chikmagalur district at around 3.30 am on Saturday.
A country made gun was used for the purpose, it is said.
Kalandar, a resident of Kanchinadka in Padubidri was shot at with eight bullets injuring his stomach, head and chest. He had been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore, but died in the evening the same day.
The body has been sent for postmortem and the report is awaited.
The reason for his visit to Moodigere is not yet known, and even his family members are in the dark.
Kalandar, a divorcee, is the son of the late Abdul Khader and Nafeesa.
Mangalore Kadri police have got in touch with Moodigere police to speed up the investigations.
