Mangalore, Aug 6: Here comes a special prayer for Congress president Sonia Gandhi who underwent surgery for an undisclosed ailment at a US hospital on Friday August 5.

Former central minister Janardhan Poojary performed the ‘roll over’ ritual (urulu seve) at Kudroli Shree Gokarnanath temple on Saturday August 6 at 10.30 and prayed for her speedy recovery.

On the same occasion, Silver chariot bali utsava, special maha pooje, sarvajanika annasantharpane was also conducted.

KPCC chief secretary K P Nanjundi, MLA U T Khader, KPCC state secretary Ivan D’Souza, MLA Abhayachandra Jain, former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, corporator Naveen D’Souza, Leaders Denis D’Silva, Harikrishna Bantwal, Billava Mahamandala president Jaya C Suvarna, party workers also participated.

Since the news of Sonia’s surgery, lot of popular politicians and celebrities including Big B have prayed for her quick recovery .

I could not believe my eyes when I saw these jokers sleeping on the floor fully dressed and doing their roll over ritual. If I have found it so funny just imagine the real God must be laughing at them. They all look drunk. Is there any sense in these senseless acts ? I think they need to be arrested and put in jail for some time.

One may disagree with the cause for which Mr. Poojary has done "Urulu Seve".

But, making derogatory comments on "Urule Seve" itself is a direct attack on our spiritual beliefs.

Persons of other religions, who are accustomed to their beliefs, cannot understand the commitment of a Hindu who surrenders himself at the feet of the deity for some cause.

I can not comment on the merits or demerits of Kuran or Bible, or the religious beliefs of Muslims and Christians, as I have not studied these scriptures, as also I can not enter the mind of the person who is practising these beliefs.

For an outsider the pictures of "Urule Seve" may look strange.

But, for the practioner it is a complete surrender to the God.

It is not a small thing for an ex-Union Minister to do the "Urulu Seva" that too in the rainy season.

The spiritual practices are very subtle and can be understood only by those who have the sensitivity to understand these practices.

I have not seen so much comments when it comes to corruption and other illegal activities, but whenever Mr.Poojary does something which is legal people have problems.
Many comments below have mentioned he criticized Urule seva in Kukke Subramanya Temple, can u guys please come what with any evidence regarding the above. Any allegation should be backed up with evidence.

Mr. Poojary thinks that this is the only to get a ticket to Rajya Sabha, as now there is no hope of getting a ticket for 2014 Lok Sabha Polls. I understand that before Poojary's "Urulu Seve" the temple compound was washed with surf water and no devotees were allowed to step on the path of Urulu Seve route. Nice try Mr. Poojary. You do Uruky seve or Marulu seve, the God will not forgive you for the sins you have committed.

Looking at this Urulu Seve display of sheer apple polish I remember one Ajji (grand mother) in a village telling :

ನನ್ನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ ಮೂರು ರಸ್ತೆ ಕೂಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕಕ್ಕಸು ಮಾಡಿಯಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ

Unbelievable.. on one side we are marching towards modernisation (of course following our traditional values) and on the other side we do this type of publicity stunts.

I don't think Mr. Poojary has done this Urulu Seve for the health and happiness of any of his family members. Just to be in the lime light these sick politicians would adopt any such tactics to please the Boss Amma at the Centre.

Mr. Yeddurappa did the same. Instead of doing his official work he visited temples, gave donations with public money and took photographs with Swami’s projecting himself as God fearing and holy.

Though I agree with Dr.Kiran's view that those who dont have faith need not criticise the acts of the faithful, the act of BJP by no means can be termed as an act of faith. It is sheer publicity stunt.
"URULA SEVE" as per tradition is undertaken after taking bath with wet clothes on soil (Not on Granite floors with LEATHER belts) around the temple, where it is believed that the every particle in the soil is full of 'Punyakara' (holiness) and touch of our body to such soil will make us holy. By these acts, it is Poojary who is hurting the faith of faithfuls rather than those who criticise it. Let us not forget the fact that the same Poojary criticised the URULU SEVE at Kukke Subrahmanya temple. If it is a recently acquired wisdom, then let us appreciate it.
It is also amusing that party loyalists accusing each other and justifying their turn of enacting the 'DRAMA', which means that all of them agree that it is a 'DRAMA'. Yeah... after all Birds of a feather flock together.
Rajani / Amma / Karunanidhi fans would have hung their heads in shame.... Jai Kar NATAKA !!!

B.Janardhana Poojari did it in a good heart and as a true human being.It is neither JM OR JM.Poojari nothing to please Sonia or any congressman of present era.He is good old Congressman remained in party when he was @ peak and when he is in rock bottom.He never complained against leadership or party admin the way he was treated!Unlike Eddy after stealing Karnataka fully,Adwani just gave him a taunt to relinquish his post indirectly which was not taken in good heart by Eddy......BJPwalas under the circumstances in total confusion now in Karnataka to find out which group is official and which is not..Poojari is a true human and leader of Congress by virtue need not any certificate from ashoka, Balakrshina Shetty or CK.Dayanada Mangalore.

By doing this type of rituals one can obtain the attention of God and your requirements will be fulfilled that too what you think at the time of rolling on the ground.
In this case Mr. Poojary has grabbed the attention of Soniyaji for sure and it shows that nowadays people are reaching to any point to make others happy and for the sake of Party.
If any poor guy needs some urgent treatment, beg 100 times for help, he will not get any kind of assurance or help. God, you are the only one can save the people of Karnataka.

THE WHOLE SCENE LOOKS LIKE BABA RAMDEV YOGA SESSION. Really pity these "BIG TUMMY" soldiers of Congress Party who are finding it extremely difficult to roll. They need to perform this exercise daily for their own health (More than soniyaji)and to be fit.

This is just a publicity stunt to gain sonia gandhi's attention by Mr. Poojary. There are many dedicated congress people who work hard daily genuinely for the welfare of the party and no one was there to support them when they were Ill.. specially Mr. poojary.
