'Fighting Corruption Not Monopoly of Hazare's Father'

Daijiworld Media Network

Mumbai, Aug 7: Former minister of Maharastra and now a Shiv Sena leader, Sureshdada Jain has come down heavily on  social activist and civil society leader Anna Hazare who is fighting for Lokpal bill, by criticizing him as 'Taliban Gandhi' who is misusing the name of the father of the nation in the name of 'anti-corruption' movement.

"Fighting against corruption is not the monopoly of Anna Hazare's father. India is a great democratic country, and it has its own way of stopping corruption. Who is Anna Hazare to dictate terms? He is just blackmailing the constitution and democratic process. He is already losing the popularity," Sureshdada Jain told the media on Saturday.

It may be recalled that Anna Hazare is facing a defamation case in the court, filed by Jain.

In 2003, Anna Hazare accused Sureshdada Jain, the then NCP leader and state minister of corruption and launched an agitation. On Anna's demand the ruling party had ordered an enquiry against Jain and two other ministers. In 2005, the inquiry committee had indicted Jain along with other two ministers on the corruption issue.

Later, Jain lost the ministry but filed a defamation case against Hazare for alleging corruption charges against him. Interestingly, the government has formed a commission to probe the complaint. Hazare was also indicted under several counts of corrupt practices by the commission.

A unstable person like Suresh Dada Jain should not open his mouth. We are all aware his loyalty to various political parties. He should instead try to purify his thoughts by remembering his father who is always missing in his name.

I don't agree completely with Mr. Jain, but I happen to agree that it is not Hazare's monopoly, and Jan Lokpal is not only plan. I have actually drafted a plan and published at NavTantra...org. I am promoting corruption control as private industry.

Please don't count Hazares acts against corrupt officials to show me that I did none of them. Please try to understand that Hazare's work is not something that can be replicated by full time workers like me without any consequences. My plan is is designed for rapid replication by professional corruption fighters.

Congress tried it’s level best to ruin the Jan Lokpal movement thro' Digvijay Singh, Manish Tiwari and now this time Shiv sena is playing congress game. It is unfortunate and evident that these parties are successful in brain (?) washing people like Alex, J N Lobo and Jude. Probably, Shiv Sena is another party along with congress who is nervous about Lokpal Bill for obvious reason.
Remember all corrupt politicians and their blind supporters!!! Anna & team's sincere & patriotic effort will no doubt be a great success and all those robbers’ days are numbered.
Annaji, Indian Janata is with you these petty obstacles are normal in Satyagraha. Whole India will walk with you to achieve the sacred goal of cleansing our beloved country. Jai Hind.

Mr. Alex D'Mello, just let us know from where will you pluck the Lokpal? From where will be get this superman? When you do not trust the collective organs of judiciary, legisture and utive, then how will you trust a one man institution tomorrow?. What guarantee do you have that there will be no witch hunting and adminsitrative collapse if we get man with hidden agendas to be the Lokpal. What if there is an accusation against the PM everyday. Do you want a new PM for the country every week or new judges every day? We have enough checks and balances today against corruption, the unfortunate part is that these have not been implemented. What we need is proper implementation, thats all. With an alert media, an alert judiciary and a responsible utive and legistlature we can fight corruption. Today Kalmadi and Raja are in jail because of this alertness, Scams are exposed because of this alertness and awareness. We do need a Lokpal, but this institution too should have checks and balances. Nobody says that the PM should be beyond the Lokpal. The bill introduced clearly says action can be taken against him once he demits office. therefore what are you harping about.

Well, Anna Hazare is a self-made who is reflecting the aspirations of millions of Indians - young and old. Whether he is autocratic in his village or not is a different matter altogether, it is the issue that matters and the only issue is to bring about a "Jan Lokpal" bill which is representative of the aspirations of crores of Indians and not a "Sarkari Lokpal" bill which represents the aspirations of hundreds of lawmakers who are turning a deaf ear to peoples demands - making a farce of so called "representative democracy".

Of course, fighting corruption is not the monopoly of Hazare's father - it can be the prerogative of the father of Sureshdada jain as well, but who are the followers ? Presumably there are none !!!!

Sagar & Jude both of trying to divert the issue. Here Anna & Suresh jain are not the issues. The issue is corruption and we are all affected by most from this corruption. If you have any problem against anna both of you go to Delhi and join the Civil society team and take leadership. Today nobody wants to take the lead because every one is one way other corrupt. If not Anna, nobody will take this issue for next 50-60 years atleast as no one has taken the issue so seriously except Anna. Let's support him. If you do not like his ways you tell the Govt to enact the bill the way we want. Nothing more, nothing less.

I fully agree to the comments of Shri. Sagar Pilare and Shri. Jude Mangalore/Dubai. Anna Hazare is not a Gandhian. His attitude, behaviour, mannerism, way of expression, body language and his utterances are full of arrogance similar to a hard core Taliban or a Naxalite. He and his disgruntled cronies go on burning the Lokpal Bill. Tomorrow they may even burn our country’s Constitution. They want Prime Minister, all ministers, MPs, Chief Justice of India, all judges and practically everyone to be under his janlokpal. Then who will administer the nation? Anna Hazare? Who will report to whom? Where is the sanctity of our Constitution ?

Does he want our country to be ruled by an autocratic coterie similar to some countries in the Arab world? Mr. Sureshdada jain has rightly stated "Fighting against corruption is not the monopoly of Anna Hazare's father.” Anna Hazare is blackmailing the nation because there are some ignorant and arrogant people to listen to him.

I don't know Gandhi or Anna or Sureshdada. What I know is rampant corruption in the country, in every sphere.

It is time to act, Taliban or Gandhi, don't wear bangles & sit with the agenda of spade a spade. Rise & terminate corrupt people.

I do not know much about the Sureshdada Jain case, but I fully agree with what he says as also I agree to the comments of Mr. Sagar Pilare. The motives of the Anna team can be easily understood with Prashant Bhushan's PIL against Mr. Kapil Sibal dragging him without reason into the 2G controversy, This was just to get even with Mr. sibal and the courts promptly threw out this PIL. Similarly Kiran Bedi no doubt was a good cop, but everyone knows that she carries a grouse against the government for not making her the Commissoner of Delhi Police and she is hell bent on taking revenge against the government.

Each one of these guys in the Anna team has a personal agenda which is perfectly disguised under the Lokpal agitation. The Lokpal agitation is only a cover and the tactics used by this gang is nothing short of blackmail. I am sure that these guys will be booted out of public space in the not so distant future.

Sureshdada jain has rightly stated that anna hazare is a taliban Gandhi. Anna hazare is a hard-core fascist masquerading as a Gandhian. He behaves in an autocratic manner in his village and does not like opposition. As the undeserved fame has gone into his head, he is trying to behave in similar autocratic manner at the national level by dictating terms to elected government and parliament. His janlokpal is no panacea for ending corruption. In fact, if all his whimsical views are accepted, the resultant lokpal will be a huge bureaucratic organisation costing the exchequer around 70 to 80 thousand crore rupees per year without any tangible benefit.

His corrupt aides will get yet another pasture to graze by blackmailing ministers and officers. Corruption must be rooted out, no doubt about it. But in the name of rooting out corruption, the subversion of Constitutional Democratic Institution cannot be allowed. Many are misled by the Gandhian face put up by this spurious Gandhi. Sureshdada jain has done yomen service to the nation by calling a spade a spade.
