Kasargod, Aug 20: In a tragic incident, two young men, both workers of the Coastal Security Force rescue boat, lost their lives due to drowning on Sunday evening, August 20, at Taikadappura in Nileshwar.
The victims were identified as Rajesh (35) and Sanish (32), who were employed in the Coastal Security Force rescue boat.
The unfortunate event occurred around 5 pm. While he was fishing, Rajesh accidentally fell into the sea. In response to the cries for help, Sanish, who was present at the scene, bravely jumped into the sea to rescue Rajesh. However, the situation took a tragic turn as Sanish also drowned in the process.
Following the incident, a joint search operation was conducted by the Coastal Security Force and local residents. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and are currently placed in the mortuary of the district hospital.
