Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 8: From Monday August 8 onwards, the astrological procedure of divine query (Devaprashnam) is being undertaken at Lord Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple here. The query has been initiated to learn whether the Lord approves of the assessment of the wealth stashed away in the secret vaults of the temple, which is currently in progress. The procedure may require a few days before arriving at a conclusion.

Sources said that Aditya Ramavarma of the Travancore royal dynasty has made arrangement for the divine query, bowing to the sentiments and concerns expressed by thousands of devotees about the chances of the Lord going wild at the evaluation of the assets of the temple, and fearing that this may spell doom for the state. Sources said the prime objective of the query will be to ascertain whether the Lord is unhappy at the opening of vaults for the preparation of the inventory. The query also proposes to seek the approval of the Lord for opening of the remaining ‘B’ vault.

The public will be free to watch the divine query procedure. As per the Supreme Court order, the remaining vault, identified as ‘B’, is proposed to be opened in a few days, and the astrologers will also be trying to know in advance what will happen if this vault is opened. The query is proposed to be completed before the remaining vault is opened.

In the meanwhile, a rare record unearthed from the archives of Kerala government reveals that the then lieutenant colonel of Madras province, G P Murphy, had written to C P Ramaswamy Ayyar, Diwan of Travancore, on February 23, 1941, with instructions to keep a close watch on the said temple and its surroundings, to find whether Netaji Subhaschandra Bose, who had revolted against the British rule, was hiding there with a different identity. This letter was written on the basis of an anonymous letter received by the Lt Colonel. The exercise however, was proved futile, as Netaji was not found there.

Lord, pl permit us to unearth all your hidden treasures, account for them responsibly and safeguard them in trust for you as always by the Royal Family members , who are your eternal Dasas. Pl also pardon us for our irresponsible discussions and attempts to divert your wealth for the so called poverty alleviation and social upliftment programmes. It is nothing but our ignorance, arrogance and greed forgetting conveniently that only your unbounded blessings and kindness alone are needed for the wellbeing of all but not your treasures. You are the saviour of all more than ever in this Kaliyuga.
Please pardon us and bless us to let noble thoughts come from all sides to grow in wisdom and spiritual wealth.
    Seeking your blessings as always,
