Puttur, Aug 24: A youth slit the throat of a young girl, killing her behind the women’s police station here on Thursday August 24.
The victim is said to be Gowri (20), a resident of Alike in Vittal of Bantwal.
The accused has been identified has Padmaraja, a resident of Naibelu in the Maninalkooru village. Reportedly, he was employed as a JCB operator.
He was apprehended by the police in Mavinakatte, near Bantwal.

According to the available information, Gowri was attacked on Thursday afternoon in close proximity to the women's police station in the city.
The unfortunate incident unfolded as Gowri, who had been to the Puttur market, was walking past the women's police station. It was during this time that the accused, Padmaraj, reportedly approached her suddenly, slit her throat, and subsequently fled the scene.
The severely wounded young woman was swiftly transported to the hospital by the police. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries while en route to Mangaluru. It has come to light that the deceased had been employed at a store near the government bus stand in the city.
