Saadhana Awards to be Conferred on Ten Noted Achievers

Mangalore, Aug 8: Saadhana National Cultural Foundation announced Saadhana Awards for the year 2011 recently.
President of the Foundation Kaa Vee Krishnadas informed that S Ganesh Rao, chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges will inaugurate the function to be held at Town Hall on Sunday August 28 at 4 pm.
The chief guests will be director of Yenepoya Educational Institutions P C M Kunhi, industrialist Shashiraj Kolambe, and president of district Kannada Sahitya Parishat Pradeep Kumar Kalkura.
Rotary district governor Dr Devadas Rai will launch the website of "Yasha Karnataka" on the occasion.
Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Kendra Kannada Sahithya Parishad will preside. District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar will hand over the awards. Dharmendra Ganeshpura, chairman, Janaki group of companies and Shivananda Karkera, president, Gokarnanatha Co-operative bank will be present.
Senior film actor Ananthavelu, senior actress Radha Ramachandra, senior dancer Murulidhar Rao, director Vijaykumar Kodialbail, Mangalore bureau chief of Deccan Herald Newspaper Ronald Fernandes, senior litterateur V G Nayak, senior Yakshagana artist Jalavalli Venkatesh Rao, senior social worker Saraswathi Bhat, senior litterateur Umesh Rao Yekkaru will be conferred the Saadhana Awards while Shariff Katipalla, singer, actor, producer will be honoured with ‘Saadhana Yuva Prashasti'.
Shariff Katipalla's "Tell Chirikoru", the first Beary comedy cd will be unveiled by MIFT director M G Hegde, while Tulu video album "Udugire" by Yashupriya Krishnadas will be released by Kodikal Durga Furnitures managing director P Mahabala Chowta.
At the Hatsyotsava Natyavaibhava programme to be held on the occasion, international fame artiste Indushree will perform her ‘speaking doll’ act and ‘Nagehabba’.
N Ramanath Bangalore will present Hasya Sambrama. Junior Rajkumar Jagadeesh Shivapura will present ‘Gaana Gunagaana’. Later a Bharathanatya programme ‘Natya Vaibhava’ will be presented by Sanathana Natyalaya dance teacher Sharadamani Shekar.
