Quit Dikshit Campaign: Parliament Adjourned Again

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS): Both houses of parliament were adjourned till noon Tuesday as the opposition persisted with its demand for Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's resignation after the government auditor indicted her for overspending in the 2010 Commonwealth Games preparations.

As soon as the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha met at 11 a.m., the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies started shouting slogans seeking Dikshit's resignation.

In the Rajya Sabha, the BJP members gathered near the podium while members at the treasury benches held placards seeking Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's resignation over a state audit report which showed losses worth crores.

Both the houses were adjourned till noon as the pandemonium continued.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has blamed Dikshit, the Prime Minister's Office and former Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi for irregularities in the Games projects.
