Congress, TDP hail court order on Jagan's assets

Hyderabad, Aug 10 (IANS) The Congress party and the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh Wednesday welcomed the high court order directing the CBI to probe the alleged illegal assets of YSR Congress party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Textiles Minister Shankar Rao, the main petitioner in the case, hailed the court order saying it proved that justice will be done.

"I salute the judiciary. This verdict shows nobody can misuse power and loot public money no matter how powerful he is," said the minister, whose letter to the court last year was suo moto accepted as a petition.

TDP leader K. Yerran Naidu, who had also filed a public interest petition in the case, said the probe would bring out the truth.

"We had been fighting against the corruption indulged in by Jagan's father and then chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. With this judgment, we stand vindicated," said Naidu.
