Firing in AMU medical college over extortion threats


Aligarh, Sep 4 (IANS): A firing incident reportedly took place in the canteen situated in front of ward number 11 of Jawaharlal Nehru (JN) Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University.

The police promptly reached the spot after receiving the information about the firing regarding the transaction dispute in the canteen.

When the police arrived, the canteen counter was found broken.A case has been registered on the complaint of canteen owner.

Ashok Kumar, CO, Civil Lines, said that both the canteen owner and the accused are not AMU students.

Two teams have been formed to arrest the accused.

According to reports, the miscreants who carried out the incident were demanding money from the canteen operator.

When the canteen operator did not comply, the accused opened fire there. There was chaos on the spot as more than half a dozen rounds were fired.

After the incident, canteen operator Musabbir told the police that the criminal Adnan Golden was demanding Rs 50,000 every month. He had been calling continuously since evening and was issuing threats. When the canteen operator refused to give him the money, he reached there with his friends and opened fire.
