Kasargod, Sep 5: Manjeshwar police arrested zilla panchayat member in connection with the assault on police.
Golden Abdul Rehman (34), youth league district secretary and resident of Uppala Hidayat Bazaar is the accused arrested by police.
On Sunday night, some incident had taken place at Hidayat Nagar of Uppala. The police who were on patrol approached the crowd that was gathered. A gang had assaulted the police on duty. Two police including SI P Anup were injured. Police have arrested Abdul Rehman over the accusation that he was also in the gang that manhandled them.
Rasheed and Afzal were arrested on Monday in this case. Two more are absconding as per police sources.
