Udupi: Ashtami Kreeda Koota Revives Splendour of Rural Games

Udupi, Aug 14: It's that time of the year when people from all walks of life will get together for a week-long event at Sri Krishna Mutt and car street here to test their skills in various competitions.

'Ashtami Kreeda Koota' will comprise a number of sports and activities centred around rural and traditional games. The event has been organised to mark the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations.

'Soppina Aata' was inaugurated on Sunday August 14 by Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt.

Games like Jiblee, Donka, Chinnidandu, Lagori, Gonicheela ota, Berchandu, Chaduranga and others revived the spirit of rural life and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of people.

    Thanks for the information accompanied by lovely photograph regarding janmastami celebration at udupi krishna temple.My best janmastami wishes to my kanada brothers and sisters.Janmastami is very sacred for we Assamese too,we shall celebrate it in our homes and Namgharas(temple)as taught by great saint Sankardeva
