Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait holds AGM

Media Release

Kuwait, Sep 16: The Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait (AAK)-AGM for the term 2021-2023 was held on September 9. It was time to draw the curtains on a special and memorable term of the AAK. When all of humanity had come to terms with a reality so harsh, the ladies who carried the Agnesian banner, under the able leadership of the president Annet Castelino, were all smiles as they had given their alma mater their very best.

This was only possible because God had been their strength all the way. So it was only apt that Crystal D’Silva, the Liturgical Secretary, rendered praise to the Almighty God on behalf of all the ladies present, in the cozy nook, in Salmiya, Kuwait. The hymn chosen, 'Bind us Together Lord', echoed sentiments of unity.

The MC, Tressy Coutinho introduced the Agnesian Alumni, Kuwait after which the vice president, Celine Mendonca briefed all present with an overview of all the events and activities conducted during this special term, in lieu of the general secretary, Marita D’Mello.

The treasurer, Kavitha D’Souza, as always, had done a splendid job at maintaining the AAK accounts and she took the stage to lay it out for all to hear. She took pride in making a special mention of the Rs one ac sent to St Agnes College to support the education of students from Manipur. God's grace had made this possible.

It was now time for the outgoing president Annet Castelino, to express her gratitude to God, to each of her team members, their families and all beloved members of AAK, for the support and participation in all events and activities organized by her team.

As an important task during every AGM, the new committee for the term 2023-2025 was formed on this day. The electoral protocol was followed in submission of nomination forms, and the oath taking.

Annet Castelino introduced the new committee members before passing the baton to the new president elect Celine Mendonca.
