New Delhi, Sep 16: The UPSC, one of the toughest exams is taken up by thousands of aspirants. To clear the civil service exam, a person prepares for a very long time. After thousands of candidates take the exam to become IAS, IFS, IPS, and IRS, only a few number of them find success.
IAS officer Tejasvi Rana, who cracked the UPSC and secured an AIR 12 without any coaching, can be a source of inspiration for several other civil services aspirants.
Tejasvi hails from Kurukshetra, Haryana. Being a very bright student from her school days, she attempted the JEE exams after her intermediate. It is learnt that it was her dream to pursue engineering since childhood.
After clearing JEE and getting into IIT Kanpur, Tejasvi developed an interest in the UPSC. She began by thoroughly covering the NCERT texts from Class 6 to Class XII and following it by examining the UPSC curriculum. Tejasvi made a schedule, studied every day, practiced writing answers, and took mock exams to evaluate her preparation. Making use of the internet, she self-prepared by making her own notes.
Tejasvi, who attempted the UPSC exam for the first time in 2015, cleared the preliminary test, but could not clear the mains. Undeterred, she took up the exam again in 2016 to secure AIR 12.
Tejasvi is now happily married to IPS officer Abhishek Gupta.
