Mangaluru, Sep 17: A person lost Rs 9.29 lacs believing a message that arrived through the Telegram app for an online part-time job offer.
A stranger sent a message of a part-time job offer to the victim. So the victim joined a group and completed some tasks through the link. He got Rs 10,000 bonus and an amount of Rs 1,044 was credited into his account.
Later, out of greed for eaning more commission, the victim further deposited a sum of Rs 10,000. In various phases he deposited a total of Rs 53,848. Later, with the intention of getting more commission, the victim went on depositing money into the account of the stranger amounting to Rs 9.29 lacs.
A case in this regard has been filed with CEN police station.
