Second Freedom Struggle has Begun: Anna Hazare

Government Buckles under Pressure, Anna to be Released

Update: 8.50 pm

New Delhi, Aug 16: Under heavy pressure from the opposition, political parties and the public across the country, the UPA government has buckled and decided to release anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare from Tihar jail.

"We have sent the release warrant of Anna Hazare and his supporters," Delhi police PRO Rajan Bhagat said.

Hazare was arrested earlier on Tuesday August 16 and sent to Tihar jail when he refused to sign a bail bond. In the morning the same day, he was detained hours before his fast at JP Park here demanding a strong Lokpal Bill.

Following the detention, the opposition BJP condemned the government for its move and Hazare's supporters across the country rose in protest.

Hazare's companions Arvind Kejriwal and others too were sent to Tihar.

However, the police have not said when Anna Hazare would be released.

Anna sent to Tihar Jail, protests engulf India

Update at 6.20 pm

New Delhi, Aug 16 (IANS): Civil society activist Anna Hazare was Tuesday arrested and sent to Tihar Jail as Delhi Police moved to stop his fast-unto-death to press for a strong anti-corruption Lokpal Bill, triggering swathes of unrest across the country and pitting the government against not just the opposition but also large sections of the public.

Hazare, 74, was detained early Friday and later arrested and sent to prison to seven days judicial custody. His associates Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and Shanti Bhushan were also detained with about 1,400 supporters all across the capital.

"Anna Hazare refused to sign a personal bond and has been sent to seven days judicial custody," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told reporters, describing it as a preventive arrest.

The opposition went on the warpath to demand Hazare's release. As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the move smacked of the excesses during Emergency and parliament was stalled, the outrage spread across the country, with reports of protests coming in from virtually every corner.

Hazare and Kejriwal were whisked away as they stepped out of an apartment in east Delhi on their way to the J.P. Park where police had clamped prohibitory orders and where the activists were planning to set the stage for their strike against the government's version of the bill that keeps the prime minister, judiciary and junior officials out of its ambit.

Hazare's supporters, who had gathered in hundreds in the apartment complex, shouted anti-government slogans and lauded the anti-corruption crusader who had gone on a hunger strike in April.

Just before his arrest, Hazare said in a recorded video message: "Don't let my arrest stop this movement. This is the nation's second struggle for freedom."

As news of his arrest spread, thousands took to the streets in Delhi, denouncing the government and hailing Hazare. The biggest gathering took place at the Chattrashal Stadium in north Delhi. Major protests were also reported in Delhi University, outside the Tihar Jail, and on the street leading from Rajghat to J.P. Park.

Security forces had a tough time handling the crowds.

Protests also gripped many states including Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa where people trooped out of their homes to voice their anger. Many shopkeepers downed shutters.

In India's financial capital Mumbai, thousands gathered at various places.

"We are also requesting supporters to strike work tomorrow and support Annaji," a volunteer for India Against Corruption said.

Celebrities too stepped in to verbalise their distress. Lyricist Javed Akhtar said: "I have had certain reservations about Anna's method but his arrest cannot be condoned. It is undemocratic, unacceptable."

The ripple effect was widespread.

"In a democracy, one has the right to protest in a peaceful manner. By detaining Hazare, the government is depriving the citizens of their constitutional rights," said P.K. Garg, a retired professor in Lucknow.

As the protests spread, the government attempted to clarify its position and said Delhi Police was not acting under political pressure and had made the detentions because Team Hazare had refused to agree to certain terms.

"If someone says we will defy the orders, I think this is unacceptable in a democracy," said Home Minister P. Chidambaram. "It is a real regret that police have taken this action."

The crisis for the government comes soon after the clampdown on a protest by yoga guru Ramdev on June 5.

The opposition was quick to seize the opportunity.

BJP president Nitin Gadkari and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), neither of which agree fully with Hazare, called for demonstrations across the country Wednesday.

"This government is bent upon crushing anyone who wants to protest against corruption," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

The CPI-M said Hazare's detention and the police ban on his hunger strike showed how "the Congress leadership is intolerant to any anti-corruption movement as its government is steeped in high-level corruption".

The volatile situation was set to snowball further with protests planned through the day. Using SMS messages, twitter and television, Hazare supporters called for people to gather in protest.

Anna Receives Widespread Support – BJP Condemns Government

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi (SP)

Updates at 11.45am

New Delhi, Aug 16: Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption is getting popular support in almost all the states. The opposition including the BJP and the Samajwadi Party raised questions about Anna’s arrest in the Lok Sabha and demanded his release. Former minister, Arun Jaitley, who termed the action as murder of democracy, wanted to know the grounds for Anna’s arrest, alleging that Hazare was not told by the policemen why he was being detained. However, the Lok Sabha witnessed turbulence as the speaker refused to suspend question hour to pave way for discussions on Anna Hazare’s fast. In Rajya Sabha too, the issue hogged limelight. The home ministry is likely to make a statement in the Rajya Sabha on the issue later in the day.

Protestors have also been observing a symbolic one-day dharna at Freedom Park Bangalore. Former Lokayukta, Justice Santosh Hegde, was one of the participants of the dharna. The dharna is led by an organization named ‘India Against Corruption’, which is also holding such protests all over the country. In Pune, the protestors took out a march, while in Mumbai, people in large numbers, began gathering near Dadar. The main programme of protest is planned at Azad Maidan in Mumbai later today. Leading supporters of the movement including Medha Patkar, are expected to address this gathering.

A number of demonstrations by people from various walks of life were held at Lucknow in favour of Anna Hazare. These protests were held at places like Gomti Nagar, Aliganj and Vikas Nagar. The protestors held aloft the national flag and chanted Bhajans and patriotic songs. Many protestors voiced their anger at the union government’s action in muffling the voices of peaceful protestors. However, information and broadcasting minister, Ambika Soni, in support of the government, said it is impossible to ensure peace and order when thousands of protestors assemble at one place.

Residents of Gandhian activist, Anna Hazare's village, Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra, flocked out of their homes to support their leader. Protests and demonstration were also reported from various places of Maharashtra. Shops and establishments in Ralegan Siddhi downed their shutters voluntary to pledge solidarity with Anna. The people of the village including women went in a procession to the depot of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, where they raised slogans against the government.

In the morning, NDA leaders met at L K Advani’s residence to take stock of the situation and chalk out future course of action in view of arrest of Anna Hazare and other activists.

The cabinet committee on political affairs is slated to meet later in the day. There is a call from Anna Hazare group to switch of lights of houses between 8 and 9 pm today to show solidarity with Anna’s initiatives. Candle light marches have also been planned at various places across the country. Prashant Bhushan has said that a petition is being moved in the Supreme Court later today.

Second Freedom Struggle has Begun: Anna Hazare

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi (SP)

Update: 10.30 am

New Delhi, Aug 16: Soon after he was detained by the Delhi police on Tuesday August 16, hours ahead of his fast demanding a strong Lokpal Bill at JP Park here, anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare proclaimed that his detention was the the beginning of 'a second freedom struggle.'

He called upon the people and especially his supporters to take up a 'jail bharo' movement and court arrest across the country.

"My dear countrymen, second freedom struggle has begun and now I have also been arrested. But will this movement be stopped by my arrest. No not at all. Don't let it happen," he said.

"Time has come my countrymen when there should be no place left in jails in India to accommodate any more persons."

He also asked them to maintain peace and not resort to violence.

"I once again request my fellow countrymen that peace should be maintained and there must be no violence," he said.

Ahead of Fast, Delhi Police Detain Anna Hazare

New Delhi, Aug 16: Taking cognizance of the defiant stand taken by revolutionary Gandhian, Anna Hazare, to undertake fast as announced earlier in the country’s capital, the policemen took him into custody from his residence. He was taken to an unknown destination. Anna’s supporters like Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi, Prashant Bhushan and Manish Sisodia were also taken into preventive custody.

The policemen took this extreme step, after failing to convince Anna Hazare not to defy prohibitory orders, and to withdraw his fasting plan. Deputy commissioner of police (crime), Ashok Chand, had met Anna on Monday morning in this connection.

Anna has already declared that he would go ahead with his proposed fast unto death, even if he is arrested. He exhorted people to show their preference to getting jailed instead of having to live with corruption and injustice. Speaking on Monday, he said that the government was right in claiming that the country’s parliament was supreme. At the same time, he said it was the duty of the government to move a bill that is right and potent, and has teeth to deal with rampant corruption in high offices.

In a statement made near Raj Ghat here, Kiran Bedi said she feels that being behind the bars is a better option as compared to having restricted freedom. She pledged to continue to fight alongside Anna Hazare, till the aim of driving away corruption from the country is achieved. She said Anna had asked the policemen the details of charges levelled against him, but he was merely informed that they had been instructed to arrest him by their higher ups.

Taking umbrage at the government action, scores of people gathered near the J P Park here and raised slogans against the government.

Former Karnataka Lokayukta and staunch supporter of causes for which Anna is fighting for, Justice Santosh Hegde, charged the central government of owning oppressive tactics against peaceful protestors to steamroll them. Noted legal luminary and member of Anna Hazare group, Prashant Bhushan, said the team will move court against the above action of the government. He is determined to file a petition in the court today. He predicted that people will come to streets in protest against the disdainful action of the union government, and that the government will find it impossible to quell the protests.

Hundreds of people visited Anna at his residence on Monday, to show solidarity with his proposed  plan of agitation. A number of people shouted slogans hailing the initiative undertaken by Anna, outside his apartment. A large contingent of policemen was present to handle undue incidents if any. The city police, in addition to deploying about 500 policemen at the spot since Monday morning, also enforced section 144 around the place where the protest was planned to be held.

If any political party wish to support, Anna, the best way is , to stay away from movement as their participation will only divide the people unity.Instead, such political parties should expose black sheeps with-in their party and that will be the real support, they can extend to Anna.

Govt. of India is absolutely right in arresting Anna Hazare and also done the wise job by releasing him at the earliest.

I do support his movement against corruption. But his way to dealing is not at all healthy. He is nothing short of blackmailing the Central govt. as he is sticking to his guns but not negotiating with the govt. Person with wise, good vision, prosperity of the whole nation will negotiate and go for WIN WIN situations to both parties. Then later on, they can try for better amendment and regulations which is missing. Here Anna is acting as a Dictator which is also undemocratic. This shows he has also has hidden agenda, full of ego and support of party which is against present UPA govt.

Now the ball is in Anna Hazare & his team. Now the responsibility with the Anna's team and their supporters, to agitate without any provocation and violence. One side we have terrorist problem and they can disrupt this type of protests. If any untoward incidents takes place govt. will blame the agitators and now onwards the agitators should be wise, not to heed to provocation and violence . Prevention is better than cure.

Wish wisdom prevails and no loss whatsoever will incur to the people and to the nation. The detractors of the great nation want our downfall as India is progressing inspire of the world recession. Thanks to the present UPA govt wise decisions and to our great nation.

GM, Bangalore & SB, London, don't view corruption in the Congress X BJP prism. All parties & most politicians are alike. When they are in opposition, they support all popular causes & quick to respond to the demands of the people. But when they are in power, they suddenly develop cold-feet. But it is the Anna Hazares & Baba Ramdevs & their so-called civil society champion supporters, who need to be watched.

Irrespective of the person or persons concerned or their stature/standing in public life, democratic processes must be followed. Rule of law cannot be given a go-by lest there should be total anarchy.

In a democracy, give & take, consultations & compromises are unavoidable.

Nobody can hold a gun & behave as if his or her way is the highway & all must follow it.

If anybody asks me to choose between CHAOS & LAW & ORDER-
I'll go with Law & Order.
Congress has lost next election here by opposing Anna(though technically they are right, morally they are wrong), as people percieve Congress must be corrupt as they are opposing the Bill or Diluting the Bill.
All Politicians though uttering different slogans for public consumption, are happy that the things have turned in their favour, as the Main issue of corruption is sidelined by Anna's arrest.
I URGE Congress to realease Anna Immediately- Introduce his version of Lokpal Bill as well in the House. Let the Parliament Debate both the Bills & accept a Bill that all Indian citizens want, without diluting it & leaving any loopholes for the corrupt to escape.
All cases field with Jan Lokpal should get investigated within 6 months & judgements delivered within a Year.

Continued- There is nothing lacking in our great country natural resources, human power, intellect, willingness to put in our efforts. Anything you name it our great country has it. All of these have been put to ill use due to the our corrupt political system. This is a great opportunity for all of us to rise up and fight this menace. Unless we stand up now, these politicians will go on building their wealth, leaving we the people to suffer in the gutters. Let us all make best use of this opportunity and show these corrupt political system what the true power of the people's unity. This will go a long way in building a clean healthy and wealthy India for all of us and our children. Wish you all the best and success in this great second freedom fight. God bless Anna, his companions and all the Indians crusading against this menace called corruption .

he only answer to the current corrupt political system is a non political organisation by the people without any political ambition. We need to set up such a system to control these corrupt shameless politicians. It is well known that these corrupt politicians while filling their pockets enough to sustain their generations, have made the country and its people so poor, that the half of its people live struggle to earn Rs 100 a day. Time and again they have shown that apart from their own self interest they have no concern for the nation or their people. They have utterly failed to provide a clean governance to its people let alone the prosperity of the nation. While we Indians shine outside India, due to our honesty and efforts, none of them have been able to succeed in India due to the corrupt system built by these. The entire system and administration has been rendered corrupt due to the current political system. The very people who elected them have become powerless and have to be content with watching their tamashas. Unless we people stand up united now and fight them, the corrupt system will be passed on to our children. At the end of the day, it is we the people who suffer most due to the inefficiencies of our political system. There is nothing lacking in our great country natural resources, human power, intellect, willingness to put in our efforts. Anything you name it our great country has it. All of these have been put to ill use due to the corrupt political system

I think Government is going through a bad time. Over that Anna's movement is having extra burden like black mailing, rude and taking advantage of the situation and supressing the government which is unwanted.

Do we think we will be happy if BJP comes to power. We have seen in Karnataka.

Anna Hazares cause is right. No doubt we should give our support But the path he follows is totally wrong.

"If someone says we will defy the orders, I think this is unacceptable in a democracy," said Home Minister P. Chidambaram. Yes Mr. PC, had anna's supporters blocked the railway tracks and inconvenienced millions of passengers across the country by delaying hundreds of trains, then he would not have arrested. Instead he would have been invited for talks. When gujjars striking for reservation lynched few policemen on duty they were not charged as they used violent method. Now Anna Hazare is using non-violent methods to bring a strong lokpal bill, so govt. cannot allow this to happen, you see.

All political parties are sailing in the same boat and no one wants the lokpal bill. Even BJP and it allies would have done the same thing what congress did it to Anna Team, but now they want to encash this opportunity to harrash the ruling party. When they were in power, all their MPs had taken oath in presence of President of India and haven't they taken monies during their regime ? Foolish... This is politics.... Instead of peaceful demonstration in support of Anna team, let every citizen of India take oath and PRACTICE not to be corrupt and not to make others corrupt. Can all opposition party members give in writing that they will not involve in corruption from 16th August onwards and will remain good citizens of INDIA for ever. NO, this will NEVER happen and corruption will NEVER stop forever.......because there no meaning for word... CORRUPTION... Please release the LOCKED PALS and let them enjoy the fruit of today's peaceful demonstraion. We have good laws but it is not applicable to all citizens equally.

I dont have any problem with the people who hate Anna Hazare. Even Mahatma Gandhi had many enemies and who differ from his ideology. But Please Compare the Draft copy of Government and Civil societies Lokpal Bill. It is 100 % evident that Governments version is total crap. If Anna's Lokpal Bill is implemented, then only we can fight corruption in a meaningful manner. Look at the Lokayukta report of Santhosh Hegde, apart from few politicians nearly 700 Government officers are named. When these people will be brought to book? Every day we see in TV9 so many PWD engineers, Forest Officers, RTO officers etc are raided. No one get punished. So strong lokpal bill is need of the hour. No Political party will support it. Since last 60 years they have done nothing but only looting. If the bill is passed it is not applicable only for UPA government. It will be applied to all state governments and future central governments also. So please dont be biased and dont think in party line. Think about India. Hate Anna no problem, but support his movement and support Lokpal Bill, at least we will not see any raja's, Kanimozi, Kalmadi, Reddy, Yeddi, sheela etc in future.

Nobody is talking and thinking about what will be the consequences if more than 5000 people gather at once place in Delhi and the enemy country will plan any attack. The police system will be in trouble if they do no arrest Anna and is group. They need to go delhi for fasting. Fasting can be done in Pune,Kolapur or any other city which is less populated. If you see and consider the density of population of delhi then even military cannot control the situation. The unwanted social evil groups can take advantage of the situation at any moment. Those who comment and blame the UPA should think once by being yourself in the chair of Sibal,MM singh ,Chidambaram and other UPA team. They cannot solve it in one day,one month or one year. The problem has taken more then 60 years and cannot be settled by one anna and one sibal. We every one should be a ANNA and work for it.CAN WE BUY FLAT,HOUSE,PROPERTY BY SHOWING ACTUAL VALUE ON THE REGISTERED DOCUMENT.IF THE ANSWER IS NO THEN WE ARE NOT FIT TO BLAME THE UPA.The government employees and people who impliment laws have created this situation where today One anna has become a Gandhi and is talking about curruption and LOKPAl.we cannot become like him by saying or blaming the UPA.We cannot stay in a temple like anna stay.It is nothing the LOKAPL can do unless we change.

Anna is determined to eradicate or to reduce corruption in India. He is a true Gandhian and he wished to show his determination by an indefinite fast.
Before Anna could commence his indefinite fast he was arrested and sent to seven-day judicial custody.
This action shows the whole helplessness how to deal with a movement that tries to overcome corruption.
The Government of India made a big mistake.

Anna is supported by people from all walks of life especially from the urban areas.
His arrest has sparked protest all over India.
Anna´s sharpest weapon against corruption is to fast. A tool the FATHER OF THE NATION USED.
Anna´s actions and protests are peaceful.
I am sure Anna and his supporters will have success. Their intentions are wonderful.
They dream of a prosperous India without corruption and chances for all Indians even for the poorest of the poor.
His struggle for an India without corruption cannot be stopped.
    Anna I wish you success!

    Dear VNayak,
I disagree. Having read extensively into both Gandhiji's and various commentators books, I found most of his fasts were means to get his own way when people disagreed with him. I give one example, please read Poona Pact - Gandhiji had with Dr. Ambedkar following disagreement regarding seperate electorate for oppressed people.
And then please note that no party will ever formulate an effective lokpal for the simple reason this conflicts with their interest. This is the only way - people need to arm twist the government - only the fear of loosing power will make them push an effective law.

Even BJP is not happy with Anna taking the role of leader of opposition or including PM in Lokpall bill. BJP is feeling completely sidelined now. BJP is just fishing in the troubled water.

The fact is that UPA, advised by jokers like Kapil Sibal, Moily, Tewary et.al completely mishandled the situation. They could have easily got credit for introducing a proper bill if they did not act arrogantly like they did. As usual, MMS was apuppet.

We all know what happend to Mahatma Gandhi.UPA is only a scapegoat and UPA is no where wrong. It is the government officers, chief secretaries and chief accountants of India who are corrupt. The MLA or MP's are not authorised to sign or withdraw any amount from the government treasury. If there is corruption, then it is in the system and the system is run by the government employees who force people to pay money for every step and process.Just take an example of a district where Dc is the supreme authority who can stop or process any development activity of a district. So why and how we can blame the present government. It is the officers appointed become greedy and then everything becomes corrupt.

Others are not with this as many knows bringing only law is not solution. If this group is so serious let the members take the oath not to give bribe to any person. When givers reduced takers also vanish. If the civil society is civil then society will be clean. This uncivil group is of Baba and looks to be opposition party sponsored. Sad to see this forum being used as a Congress versus BJP clash. It only trivialises and takes attention away from Anna Hazare's fight against corruption. We all know that no political party is truly free from corruption or injustice. I dont think the BJP can take advantage of Anna Hazare's movement to bash the Congress because they too have a poor recored in Gujarat where IPS officers and social activists are constantly being suppressed, harassed and persecuted for being honest in exposing that Government's role in the 2002 riots. The Congress party is corrupt no doubt but so is the BJP. Also no one can deny the BJP having a communally divisive agenda but so is the Congress guilty of 'Caste' politics' and 'Vote bank' politics. Cant we as Indians forget our political inclinations and be concerned about finding non-political and non-violent ways of overcoming corruption and all forms of injustice our country is faced with ? Are we not capable of that ?

@ Harris-Dubai : Its just the timing brother, unfortunately for congress & its supportors is at the receiving end this time. As the ruling Govt they have to deal with this now. Like you said Thelka scams were there during NDA and more bigger scams like Bofors were there before also during congress. Right from the time of until CAG all the parties have big holes & small holes dug up, whose hole is big its known for everyone as some party is clever enough to cover it through their powers or at the cost innocense of the people & some parties openly dig and try to gather as much as possible before leaving the office. We hear stories in our Mythology that when "PAPADHA KODA " is filled only then the god will appear to eradicate the Asuras. May be it was half filled then during NDA rule & now its almost full its time for the kill.Since we dont know where this champaign will end up, let the UPA atleast be serious about this than shooting in the air & if they want make a strong bill and first investigate BJP & then Anna's background instead of just giving BHASHANS about curruption. If they think BJP has bigger foxes then why wait?, come on hit the nail and take the advantage prior to next loksabha elections . Who's stopping them? This is not the solution but just a first step to that solution and when someone is taking that first step we should support him rather than doubting the motives like a typical politican.

While Raja, Kalmadi and Kanimozi can be booked and sent to jail under Anti-corruption act why we need yet another law. To control 2 crores of Govt employees and politicians do we need a nearly 10 to 20 lakh Lokhpal employees who have to be paid from tax payers money. Why dont we increase the judicary staff and enforce anti corruption act with slight amendment not to seek permission for prosecution from governer or government agency. A system of case acceptance by the court is better option that seeking permision.

When 2008 Bangalore blast accused Madani was taken into custody, Human Rights activists and other organizations were raising their voice against the arrest. Where are these people now When Shri Anna Hazzare is taken into custody who is fighting for a better cause. Here we can see the real face of Human rights org and politicians.

Anna's detainment/ arrest and not giving permission / with conditions show that the Rules are made for the common man only and that these do not apply to any political party. Since they are in Ruling they can even put Emergency. In fact the current position is no better than Emergency which Indira Gandhi had put, Its in their blood. Suppression.....
Thats how the Jagdir's used to function and make money .

Anna is like a Queen Bee and all the supporters will follow him wherever he is. Just by arresting the main person govt can not earn anything and will have to face the retaliation from the general public that is for sure.

This goes to show that true Democracy in India really does not exist. Anyone who dares to speak the truth to oppose corruption or any form of injustice by the government will be suppressed, harassed and persecuted whether it is the Congress who is suppressing Anna Hazare's movement against corruption or whether it is the BJP government in Gujarat suppressing and harassing honest IPS officers involved in exposing the Government's complicity in the Gujarat riots of 2002. No political party is sincere about ending corruption or injustice. It is left now to the people of India to take up this responsibility in a non-violent manner.

@Inthu : Right said, this is politics and no party or politicians will be ready to approve a strong bill ( am not talking about Anna's version or Govt version as I dont know both). They will try to add as much loopholes as possible for them to get away before approving it. Congress is doing typically doing what they are supposed to do and BJP is also doing what it supposed to do. Even if it was Vice-versa, we would have seen both these parties on the other side of fence & Congress would have been shouting Anna ki Jai, Anna Ki jai and try to hijack this champaign. As today Congress says Anna is RSS Agent , BJP or nagesh would have told that ANNA is Italian Agent then. Its all polictics, they just need issues & at the end of the day.

Anna Hazare has chosen wrong path to realise his goal.Best way is raise a party and contest election and become a mass leader.Get power and change the laws to fight the corruption.we all know mobs cannot be controlled by leaders. The leaders do not take responsibility for the violence and lawlessness done by the mobs.Hence they have no right to mobilse the mobs at all.Government has mandate to rule and maintain law and order.

    Dear D Prasad,Udupi
Not only central congress government is against the strong lokpal bill ,even every single politician are not interested to implement this bill. Every single politician means BJP’ians also included. Now BJP supporting to Anna on strong lokpal bill because they are in opposition place and they clearly know people of india supporting to Anna and due to this factor they will gain the public support more to come back to ruling party.
If BJP on ruling party today and in same anna’s situation . They might have do worst than congress did. Because BJP having more than bigger corrupted bhakasuras (Ex. Yaddiyurappa) than congress. What do you think if BJP is ruling party then they will issue lokpall bill today. No. If BJP is ruling party then congress will support anna today. This is only political game and not single politician wanted to pass strong lokpall bill.

Expected! Expected! Congress(I) should show the people copy of permission given by British to Gandhi for fasting. They should also show the letter of request by Gandhi asking permission to fast.

Shameful idiots... Right time to get to street and teach lessons to all these political monkeys in a non-violent way.

Cong(I) cleverly arrested on 16th instead of 15th.

This clearly shows the attitude towards the curruption by the central congress govt. The Congress Govt. reluctant to bring a strong Lokpal Bill because they have so many currupt leadres whoo have looted the money of poor people this country. They have got the "good taste" of curruption. That is why the are not interested to bring this bill which helps the people of India. They are turning the attention of the common people by making the allegations towards the people like Anna Hazare. You Central Govt. People enemies of this country. The Opposition party too has to fight to bring this bill. Both the ruling and the opposition party should work togeather to bring the historic bill. Do not waste time of making allegations on one another. The currupt people already eaten so much money. Let us stop this for ever. I request all should unite in this and erase curruption.
