Bahrain Billawas felicitate education minister Madhu Bangarappa

Bahrain, Sep 19: Bahrain Billawas, federation of NRI Billawas living in the Island country felicitated Madhu Bangarappa, education minister of government of Karnataka, who arrived to participate in the 169th birth anniversary of Brahmarshee Narayana Guru. Hundreds of members of Tulu and Kannada organizations of Karnataka origin congratulated the minister on the occasion.

Harish Poojary, president of Bahrain Billawas, Roopesh Salian, chief secretary, Amarnath Rai, president of Kannada Sangha, Ramprasad Ammenadka, chief secretary, Hajee Abdul Razak Hejmady, president of Dakshina Kannada Muslim association and Anand Lobo, president of Indian club were present.

The programme began with prayer by Preethi Roopesh Salian. The minister and other eminent personalities lighted the lamp.

Harish Poojary, president of Bahrain Billawas welcomed the gathering. Amarnath Rai, president of Kannada Sangha spoke and submitted an appeal to the minister requesting for more grant from the government towards Kannada Bhavana. Haji Abdul Razak remembered his close relation with family of Bangarappa. Anand Lobo expressed happiness over the visit of the minister to Bahrain.

The administrative committee of Bahrain Billawas offered memento and shawl to the minister. Kannada Sangha, Mogaveeras Bahrain, Bunts Bahrain, Vishwakarma Seva Balaga, Kulals Bahrain, Mangaluru association of Saudi Arabia, Yaksha Dhruva Patla foundation also felicitated the minister.

Speaking on the occasion Madhu Bangarappa said, “The principles and ideology of Brahmarshee Narayana Guru is applicable for all the times. I will work to the best of my ability as an education minister. I will also try to resolve the issues of NRIs.”
