Kuwait Pangla Association celebrates Monti Fest and AGM 2023

Kuwait, Sep 15: On the occasion of Mother Mary’s Birthday Kuwait Pangla Association (KPA) joyously celebrated the feast, known as Monti Fest, on September 15th at Badur Hall in Salmiya, following the traditions and culture of Mangalore. KPA also organized an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to democratically elect a new management committee for the term spanning from 2023 to 2025. President Roshan Martis extended a warm welcome to all the KPA family members, and the festivities began with a delightful welcome dance presented by Krisha D'mello.

Crystal and Nixon corda upheld the age-old tradition and culture by bringing the new crop (konshi) as newlyweds, and they presented it to Clara D'Souza as a symbol of this cherished tradition. 

Manoj Rego & Team led the prayer; thereafter all the children with flowers gathered around Mother Mary’s statue to offer their floral tributes in deep devotion.The enthusiasm of the congregation, particularly the children, was boundless, as they sang hymns like 'SakkadSangathaMelyan' and 'Moryeik Hogalsiya,' showering Infant Mary's statue with their heartfelt floral offerings.

The new crop (Novem) was blended with milk and distributed to all attendees as a customary offering.

Vivian Rodrigues bid farewell for Rudolf D’mello bypresenting a KPA memento as a token of appreciation and gratitude.

KPA seized the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to new members by presenting them with roses as a gesture of inclusion.

Glanet Castelino, KPA General Secretary, and Santhosh Rodrigues, Treasurer delivered detailed reports on various activities and presented financial statements for the year 2021-2023.

Priya Cardoza skillfully conducted the procedure for electing a new committee for the year 2023/2025, and it was a remarkable moment as all positions were chosen unanimously, reflecting a strong agreement within the organization.

The celebration had loads of entertainment with breathtaking performances by Pangla family members which included dance performances by Sonal D’Souza and Sharrel D’Souza.

Laveena Castelino proposed vote of thanks.

Manoj Rego conducted grace before meals.

DJ Roshan entertained us with a mesmerizing mix of music, Blen Dsouza& Joy Pereira did the photography and the delicious meal was served by Ambrose catering Farwaniya.

Joslin D'Souza served as the program's enthusiastic host & Manoj Rego, who skillfully captivated the audience with housey housey game for both children and adults, ensured everyone had a memorable and enjoyable time.
