Mangaluru, Sep 22: In another operation conducted by the CCB police on Friday, September 22, under the "Drugs Free Mangalore" operation, they arrested two individuals who were selling MDMA (Methylene Dioxy Methamphetamine) to the public and students across Mangaluru city.
The CCB Police received information about two individuals illegally possessing and selling MDMA to the public and students in the Ullalbail area. They conducted a raid and successfully seized the prohibited drug, MDMA.
The arrested suspects are Zakir (29), a resident of Subhash Nagar House, Ullal, and Karthik Suvarna (27), a resident of Valachchil Padavu Mane, Arkula Village, Farangipet, Bantwala Taluk.
During the raid, the police confiscated 20 grams of MDMA valued at Rs. 1,00,000/-, a Honda Activa scooter, 2 mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs. 3300/-, and a digital weight scale. The total estimated value of the seized assets is approximately Rs. 2,15,000/-. A case has been registered against the accused at Ullala Police Station. The investigation is ongoing, and more individuals involved in this drug sale case are being pursued.
Among the accused, one Zakir has a previous case registered against him for attempting to murder an on-duty government employee at the Ullal police station. Another accused, named Karthik, has a case of two-wheeler theft registered against him at Mangaluru North Police Station.
The investigation into this drug-selling network was carried out by the officers and staff of the CCB unit under the guidance of Anupam Agarwal, the city commissioner of police.
