Mangaluru: 62-year-old tempo driver dies by suicide

Mangaluru, Sep 27: A tempo driver died by suicide by jumping into a well near St Sebastian Church, near Thokkottu market here. The incident came to light on Wednesday September 27.

The deceased is identified as Nagesh (62), a resident of Thokkottu Krishnanagar, Uchil.

Nagesh used to park his tempo every night at Hotel Ganesh Bhavan’s proprietor’s house which is in front of the church. Nagesh was missing since Wednesday morning and could not be found anywhere. His mobile phone, cash, photo and sandals were found on the seat of the parked tempo.

The family, who grew suspicious, started searching for him including in the well. The fire brigade personnel who arrived at the spot found his mortal remains in the well. They retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Nagesh was suffering from heart disease. He has left behind his wife and two sons. He was the former president of Thokkottu Nityananda Yuvaka Mandala.
