Kundapur: Village accountant, PRO assaulted – Govt employees’ association urges arrest of accused

Kundapur, Sep 28: A village accountant (VA) and PRO who had gone to survey crop as per the orders of the deputy commissioner were assaulted and obstructed from carrying out their duty at Japti on Thursday September 28.

The VA who was assaulted is identified as Prakash Suvarna, who is a retired defence officer.

On Thursday morning, village accountant Prakash Suvarna and PRO Madhura had been for crop survey. During the survey, accused Srinath Udupa along with his accomplices abused the VA and assaulted him at Kailkaere of Japti village according to the case filed by Prakash Suvarna. Both Prakash Suvarna and Madhura are admitted to government hospital in Kundapur.

Dinakar Shetty and Prakashchandra Shetty, president and vice president of Udupi district government employees’ association urged to arrest the accused immediately.

A case in this connection is filed at Kundapur rural police station.
