Bengaluru MNC employee alleges harassment by live-in partner

Bengaluru, Sep 28 (IANS): A woman employed with an MNC in Bengaluru has lodged a complaint against her live-in partner for harassment, police said on Thursday.

The complaint was lodged with the Girinagar police station and a probe is currently underway.

The accused has been identified as Rafeeq Badshah.

According to the police, the woman has alleged that the accused pretended to be a Hindu man on Facebook and said his name was 'Guruprasad'.

He befriended her and they soon developed a relationship and moved in together.

The woman found out about his identity later and also discovered that he was an auto driver, the police said.

But she continued to be in the relationship.

However, the accused started harassing her and unable to bear it any longer, she moved back to her parents' place.

The woman has also urged for legal action against the accused, the police added.

Call me blah blah Chauvinist, but significant proportion of women have started abusing the law in our country especially those who think they are educated. Go to women's police station and go through the files and you will see how daylight robbery based on threat of the long hand of law is being monetized. It is not political because, it runs across religion and caste lines and all are equal opportunity offenders. They know very well that women get a favorable view on the judgement day.

Once the identity was known, you continued until harassment began? Very sad, the women have to bear the brunt. But where does pleasure end and pain begin? Agreeing to live together without knowing who the person is? Parents are just to provide you everything until 18? Then it is all major deciding?
