Anna and His Cause Dominate Cyber World

New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS): With updates every minute on everything related to the social activist, ranging from his whereabouts or details about his agitation, to full-fledged discussions on his cause on social networking sites, the virtual world is abuzz with Anna Hazare.

On Twitter, the updates are simply pouring in - with scores of tweets every second.

Akhil Master posted: "I believe the Jan Lokapl bill can bring a lot of change in the country. I am with Anna Hazare".

Dinesh Kumar Dubey added: "Anna's fight for change has inspired millions of Indians".

Support pours in from outside India too.

Tweeted Jasmine Jane from Britain: "Indian crusader's fight against corruption is a fight we all must take up too".

On Facebook, people have fullfledged discussions and debates on Anna's agitation. But not everyone is in his support.

Rajni Sharma, a young professional, voiced her support for Hazare's movement. However, some of her friends did not agree.

Her friend Raghav Jain said: "Anna calls himself a Gandhian but this is not how Gandhi would have protested. His way of approach was more to do with reforming his adversary, but Anna is targetting the government like an enemy."

Added Sanchita Sharma: "The way things are going, Anna is becoming bigger than his cause. The media is obsessed with him."

Voicing his dissent, Rahul Nuthakki said: "Anna Hazare is the sudden superstar now. Irom Sharmila has been fasting to protest against human rights abuse in Manipur for 10 years now, yet she hardly gets any attention and the government hardly bothers. Wonder how can the media and the people be so biased".

On search engine Google, searches for Hazare are steadily rising.
