Lucknow, Aug 18:
Amidst the Anna Hazare frenzy sweeping across the nation, a local lawyer in Muzafarpur district of Bihar filed a complaint against the Gandhian and eight others for insulting the national flag.

Others mentioned in the complaint include civil society member Arvind Kejriwal, singer Kailash Kher, Javed Ali, Adnan Sami and Alka Yagnik. The complaint filed by local lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha is related to hoisting of national flag during a singing reality show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' in which Anna Hazare participated. The show was aired on August 12 on a TV channel.

The complaint was filed before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) S P Singh alleging dishonour during flag hoisting as it violated the guidelines as mentioned in National Honour Act, 1971 and the National Honour (Amendment) Act, 2005. The complainant alleged that the accused persons including Anna Hazare be tried for breach of the Honour Act and sections 2 and 5 of the Honour (Amendment) Act.

However, the case was transferred to First class judicial magistrate Mithilesh Kumar by the CJM. The matter has been slated for hearing on September 12.
