'Mangalore Super Series-2011' State-level Badminton Tourney on Sep 3, 4

Mangalore, Aug 18: Mangalore Sports Private Limited, a non-profit enterprise working towards the development of sports at the grassroot level, will be organizing its second event ‘Mangalore Super Series–2011’, a state-level open badminton tournament at U S Mallya Indoor Stadium, Lady Hill, on Saturday September 3 and Sunday September 4.
The event will include students’, men’s, and women’s single and doubles matches and nearly 400 to 500 players will participate in the event from across the state.
The events will be held under the following categories:
Inter-district (DK, Udupi, Shimoga, Coorg) under 13 - boys and girls - singles and doubles; under 15 - boys - singles and doubles; under 17- boys and girls - singles and doubles; under 19 - boys and girls - singles and doubles and mixed doubles.
State-level open - men’s and women’s - singles and doubles; above 45 - men's - singles and doubles.
The mega event will be telecast live in a local channel and also a national sports channel. There will be a huge gathering of 3,000 delegates per match.
About 2,500 student viewers from nearby schools and colleges, 500 parents and friends of players, 500 invitees and many more are expected to witness this grand tournament.
Winners and runners-up will get Cash Prizes, Trophies and Certificates.
Mangalore Sports Private Limited vice-president Ramachandra Baikampady, Shashidar Kodical, Gautam Kodical, Chetan Sagar, and B Sudhir Bhat were present at the press meet.
The Mangala Sports Pvt Ltd promotes recreational, middle school, collegiate and professional badminton leagues throughout the Dakshina Kannada, Coorg, Shimoga and Udupi district.
