Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 30: Compared to the last few days, Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts received good rains on Friday September 29. The weather is also slightly cooler. Intense downpour was experienced in Mangaluru on Friday in the morning and night.
Beltangady has received good rains in the last two days. Shishila, Arasinamakki, Dharmasthala, Mundaje, Madanthyar, Venur, Gerukatte and Charmady areas had received good showers.

Various parts of Karkala received moderate rains. From morning till afternoon, the rain was intense. Cloudy weather prevailed from the afternoon. Mala and Bajagoli received good rains.
In Kumbale Manteguli, a coconut tree fell on the sit-out of a house belonging to Abdulla. House of Francis Crasta got damaged due to landslide at Angadimogaru Delampadi.
The roof of taluk stadium at Swaraj Maidan of Moodbidri flew off at three spots due to high velocity winds.
On Friday, most of the fishermen called of fishing activities as cyclone formed on Arabian Sea due to low pressure. The boats that had gone to deep sea rushed back to the shore.
High velocity winds are blowing at deep sea for the past two days. Waves of great height are witnessed in the sea. Some boats that went for fishing from Malpe, have taken shelter at Goa and Karwar ports.
In Malpe, the fishing port boats are anchored near the rivulet as there is no space in the port. Many outstation boats also rushed to Malpe due to inclement weather.
