Mangaluru, Oct 1: A 24-year-old man of Vijayapura Jewargi caused a stir on Saturday, September 30, by climbing atop a mobile tower near Sri Koragajja Kshetra of Mulki industrial area to protest against the condition of roads in Vijayapura and Bagalkote region.
Satish (24) climbed atop a mobile tower which was cause for some anxiety and worry for the police, public and the fire fighting force. Four hours after climbing up, Satish climbed down on his own much to the relief of those gathered there.
Satish climbed up a mobile tower at 9 am on Saturday. On seeing him climb up the tower, a few citizens brought this to the notice of the police and the fire fighters. The police who rushed to the spot made frantic efforts by making announcements on the mic to convince him to get down from the tower. Even after they gave him assurances Satish remained firm and defiant.
When he climbed down the mobile tower four hours later he said he thought of staging such a unique protest so as to bring to the attention of the authorities the condition of the roads of Vijayapura Bagalkote road besides other problems.
