Mangaluru, Oct 3: Police have arrested notorious theft and robbery accused in Mulki police station limits and seized the ornaments and vehicles they had kept for sale.
On September 17, 2023, a gold chain was stolen from Vasanti Shetty, who resides at Kolnadu Chandramouleshwara road under Mulki police station limits. On the same day, a Bajaj Discovery bike under registration No. KA-19-EC-2398, parked by Suryaprakash N near Chandramouleshwara bus stand, was also stolen. Cases for both thefts were registered at Mulki police station.
Mulki station PSI Maruthi P and his team, on the lookout for the accused, arrested accused Raghu S near Punaroor check post on September 23. He was riding the Discovery bike No. KA-19-EC-2398, which was used in the robbery of Vasanti Shetty's Karimani chain. The accused has been produced in court.
Mulki police inspector Vidyadhar D Baikerikar, who was searching for other accused, stopped two motorcycles and a car at Punaroor on October 3. Upon questioning, he identified the four accused on the two motorcycles and in the car and arrested them. The police seized the following items: KA 20, EE 0610 Honda Dream Yuga company motorcycle, a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle without a number plate, Etios tourist car No. KA 17D 2299 in silver color, and a broken Karimani chain weighing 39.670 grams, together worth Rs 7,63,000.
The arrested accused from Davanagere are Raghu S (30), resident of Honnoor, Malashetty village; Pramod V (23), resident of Vinoba Nagar; H Ravikiran (23), resident of Avarageri, Goshale; Davala Sab (23), resident of Avaragere and Manjunatha (29), resident of Honnoor, Malashetty village.
The arrests were made under the leadership of Mangaluru North ACP Manoj Kumar by Mulki station PI Vidyadhar D Baikerikar, PSI Vinayaka Bavikatte, Maruti P, ASI Sanjiva, Umesh, Suresh Kunder, HC Kishore Kumar, Shashidhar, Mahesh, Pramod, Chandrashekar, Vishwanath, Udaya, Jayaram, Sathish, Pavan, PCs Arun Kumar, Vasudev, Vinayaka, Shanker, Chitra, Cheluvaraj, Shekar, Yashwanth, Basavaraj, Surendra, Anjinappa, Imam, and Sharanappa, under the directions and guidance of their senior officers.
