Elderly man selflessly fills potholes in Karwar, video goes viral in social media

Karwar, Oct 5: This old man doesn't spare any pothole that he encounters on the road without closing them and making them motorable. This old man has become busy filling up the potholes on the roads in Karwar and these pictures have gone viral on the Internet.

The Habbuwada Road in Karwar was pothole-ridden. There were many accidents reported on this stretch as motorists tried to avoid the potholes resulting in deaths. Though there was a lot of hue and cry about the potholes the district administration had turned a blind eye to take up repair works.

John, an old man and a resident of Karwar's Bandishitta has come forward to fill these potholes.

Early in the morning, John gets on his cycle and parks it across the road before he gets engaged in filling up the potholes on the road. He comes equipped with a basket with spade, gravel stones and mud to fill the potholes. He pours the stones and mud into the potholes and closes them temporarily.

Many netizens have appreciated the noble intent of this selfless act of the old man and his video has gone viral on the social media which has been shared by many netizens to show the importance of road safety.
