Bengaluru, Oct 6: In a shocking incident, a bus shelter was stolen in the city.

Thieves took away a brand new bus shelter built with stainless steel on Cunningham Road of the city built at a cost of Rs 10 lac. A case was filed in this connection by the vice president of the private company that built the shelter with High Grounds police station.

The company had built the bus shelter in front of Coffee Day with the permission of the BBMP. On August 28, when the company officials came to check the bus stand, it was missing. When the company officials asked BBMP, they said that they have not removed it.

Police are hunting for the thieves using CCTV recordings of nearby establishments. Reacting on the matter, transport minister Ramalinga Reddy said, “The BMTC is not constructing any bus shelters. It is built by the BBMP. Some thieves have taken away the bus shelter. I will speak to the police commissioner.”

Its not normal a bus shelter to takeaway without anyones notice. They cant remove within minutes without anyones seeing. It makes noice. No CCTV cameras in the busstand or was blackened?May be the same people who built it removed and sold?I am sure by this time it is also cut into pieces.horrible.
