Mangalore: Kadri Cricketers to Honour Four Young Achievers on 'Star Nite'

Mangalore, Aug 21: Kadri Cricketers will honour four young achievers during 'Star Nite,' a musical extravaganza which will mark their sixth annual celebrations at Kadri ground here on Monday August 22 at 6.30 pm.

Kadri Young Achievers Award - 2011 will be presented to Nakul Abhyankar, a final year student of NIT-K and son of Ramesh Bhat and Vijaya, and Aishwarya Majumdar, daughter of Tushar and Reema.

Nakul is a promising young playback singer in Dakshina Kannada district, who has competed in both Kannada and Hindi versions of the popular Sa Re Ga Ma programme.

Aishwarya has been winning awards for her singing ever since she was a three-year-old. She is also the winner of Amul Chote Ustad competition, and has rendered her voice as playback singer in Bollywood and also Gujarati and Bhojpuri.

Kadri Cricketers will confer the Kadri Best Music Director Award – 2011 on Arjun Janya, a young music director who has to his credit movies like Birugali, Sanchari, Gubbi, Kempe Gowda, Tuglaq and others. Son of Ashwat Kumar and Anusuya, he will be awarded for his music in movie Kempe Gowda.

Kadri Cricketers will present the Kadri Best Singer Award-2011 award to Vijay Prakash, son of I Rama Krishna and Lopa Mudra Prakash. Vijay, a finalist in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contest, learnt music under the tutelage of noted classical playback singer Suresh Wadkar in Mumbai. He has the distinction of singing for legends like A R Rahman in the song 'Jai Ho', Kadhal Anukkal, Hosanna and so on. He has rendered his voice for several hit songs in Tamil, Hindi, Telegu, Kannada and Malayalam movies. He will be awarded for his song Tara Tara from the movie Kempe Gowda.
