Kundapur, Oct 9: Thieves entered the house of Sukanya Kini of Jansale in Siddapura village between October 5 and 8, when the family had been for a pilgrimage to Tirupati temple and decamped with lac of rupees worth gold ornaments and cash.
Sukanya had left on October 5 with family to Tirupati. The house is located near Kundapur-Shivamogga state highway. When the family returned on October 8 morning, they noticed the front door of the house broken and the robbers had ransacked the house.
The thieves had bent the lock with hooks of the front door. Both the lock and hooks were thrown into the well in front of the house. Police removed the same with the help of magnet.
The thieves took away a golden chain mixed with pearls that weighed five sovereigns, a golden coin weighing one sovereign, silver ware and Rs 10,000 in cash.
Shankaranarayana police team visited the spot. Canine squad and finger print experts also surveyed the spot for any clues.
