Puttur, Oct 13: The experimental check of alert message during national or natural calamity emergency was held throughout the country on Thursday October 13. But this experiment proved costly to the students of a college at Puttur.
Though mobile phones are not allowed inside classrooms, many students had kept them on silent mode while the class was in progress. Around 11.45 am on Thursday, all the mobile phones started giving continuous beep sound and the students were caught off guard. The lecturer came to know about the mobile phones kept inside the classroom by students.
All the mobile phones were confiscated by the lecturer and returned to students with warning after the class.
