Bangalore: Katta Naidu Admitted to Hospital, HC Rejects Bail

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Aug 23: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday August 23 rejected the bail application of former minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu, who is under judicial custody since the last two weeks for his alleged role in the KIADB land acquisition scam.

Justice V Jagannathan denied bail to Naidu, along with his son Bangalore city corporator Jagadish and ITASCA software company managing director S V Srinivas.

On Monday August 22, Katta was admitted to Victoria Hospital after he complained of uneasiness and ill health. This occurred hours before his judicial custody was set to end.

Some claim that Katta may have chosen this time to complain of health complications as his application for bail was to come up for hearing before the court on Monday. He perhaps expected that the special Lokayukta court would grant him bail instead of extending the judicial custody, considering his health condition.

However, contrary to his expectations, the court on Monday extended his judicial custody and that of two other accused, by 14 more days.

In order to stay in line with Annas struggle, my strong suggestion would be to give them life imprisonment, so that no one will dare to do this again.

This sickness is just due to the worry about the money, wealth which he looted when he was in power. He is unable to enjoy this looted money, and may be thinking that he will die soon in the jail without lavishing of this poor peole's money. This is not only your case Mr. Ex Minister, those who cheated, looted our own people, our own state, and country, will never be able to enjoy thier life, and will suffer in this life or after. Even if they believe or not, this is the truth. So be happy atleast now and enjoy the free life....

Katta & politicians develop "anarogya" as soon as they are prisoned.
Yeddy has got admitted into hospital knowing his turn might come sooner. He ran to Mauritius when he got the leaks from Santosh Hegde's report to save himself & hide his wealth there.
I ask BJP & ABVP to protest infront of the Hospitals & Doctors who help these corrupt escape arrest by giving false statements & reports.

Double standard for the accused is the weakness of our beaurocracy. Always affluent and powerful politicians and businessmen get bail and if not a VIP room in a star hospital for pseudo ill-health. The whole system is hand in gloves with rich and powerful where as the common men languish inside jail without hearing their cases for months and years.
There is total corruption in our system which should be cleaned by the activists like RTI/Whistle-blowers and the independent institutions like state-Lokayukta/Central-Lokpal with strong teeth to prosecute the corrupt. The Prison officers, the Govt doctors, the lab technicians etc should have fear of the constituted system and not the fear of the corrupt and powerful individuals whom they are investigating.
