Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Oct 15: A young man, Royal Lewis (22), and an active member of ICYM Udyavar, tragically ended his life by consuming poison in Mangaluru.

Royal, originally from Pithrodi in Udyavar, had been employed at a prestigious private company in Udupi but had quit his job due to personal issues.

At the time of his passing, Royal was residing in a PG in Mangaluru, where, on Saturday, he ingested poison due to certain problems. Concerned locals rushed him to a Mangaluru hospital, but sadly, he passed away around midnight.

Royal is survived by his mother, brother, and other relatives. Further details are awaited.

Our youths mind get trained to accept disappointment and failures in life. When one's inner drive is strong, nobody can destroy emotionally. External looks many times are deceitful. It is really heartbreaking. RIP Royal.

So sad, active and promising youth took such extreme step. May his soul rest in peace. May their near and dear ones may get strength to bear the loss. Heart pains to hear such tragedy. In many suicidal cases of the past, I heard of people taking some very risky decisions without consulting elders or trustworthy people and then landed up in grave problems. Unable to handle crisis arising out of their risky decisions, they take such drastic steps. Youngsters should learn to consult elders for their major decisions, if not should garner courage to face the consequences but shouldn't take extreme step.

As a Catholic youth leader he was surrounded by so many counselling options in the church and among the youth and elders. One also has the benefit of confession. I do not understand how he could have not used any of these helplines to offload his feelings . Dear Youth every cloudy day is followed by many many days of sunshine please do not be impatient with life. GIVE LIFE A CHANCE and life will not fail you, every cloud has a silver lining and it will shine on you. do not take the drastic step of taking your own life
