Mangaluru: Lokayukta sleuths nab PWD junior engineer while accepting bribe

Mangaluru, Oct 18: Lokayukta officials conducted a raid on Wednesday October 18, and caught a PWD official while accepting a bribe.

The official caught by Lokayukta officials is identified as Ronald Lobo, a junior engineer of the PWD quality assurance division.

He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. Ronald Lobo had allegedly demanded the bribe to pass the bill of road works.

The raid was conducted under the leadership of Lokayukta SP Simon and DySP Cheluvaraj. Lokayukta official Kalavathi also a member of the raiding team.

    Mr. Lobo, You should have been an example for others to lead a good life but brought shame to your own family & community. You are also a part of the Big Gang who live with ill gotten money & show power. Please note that because of you guys many die on the roads due to poor road constructions & unscientific curves / design.

    Bribe begets bribe. He too might have bribed to get this position in PWD which is one of the most corrupt departments . But that doesn’t mean he has the right to reimburse by putting people’s lives in danger. Now let him enjoy another good position in the govt.
