Karkala: One arrested for using fake number plate, plotting illegal act

Karkala, Oct 19: Police arrested Ummer Faruk, a resident of Borgalgudde of Nitte village, who was plotting to conduct some illegal act by fixing a fake registration number plate to his car.

Police were on patrolling duty near Parshuram Theme Park of Bailoor on October 16 when they saw Ummer going in a car. On checking, the personnel found that the number plate on the car was a fake one. The car windows were also tinted over permissible limits.

On investigation, it was learnt that Ummer had taken assistance from Dheeraj and Preetam from Mangaluru, to plot an illegal act. A case was filed in city police station and Ummer was produced in the court. He was sent to judicial custody.

Ummer has several cases in various police stations related to drug trafficking, theft, dacoity, cow theft etc.

    Good job by police. Fake number plates are used for illegal activities, strict checks required. From November 2 all ( including old vehicles) will require High Security Registration Plates, so catching will be easier.
