Bengaluru, Oct 21: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who is also serving as Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, on Saturday said that he had never claimed that he alone was responsible for Congress party’s victory in the assembly elections.
Speaking to media persons near Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru, he clarified that he had never claimed nor will he ever claim that he alone was responsible for he party’s victory and asserted that the Congress party came to power because of the support and work of all leaders and party workers.
Responding to remarks made by senior party leader Ramesh Jarkiholi that Shivakumar alone was not responsible for the Congress victory, Shivakumar said he knows the worth of the party workers and that the unity and cooperation from everybody was behind the Congress party’s success.
To a question on the remarks made by government chief whip Ashok Pattan, who is believed to be close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, that the State Cabinet will be reconstituted after two and half years as per information received by him from AICC in-charge K C Venugopal, the deputy chief ninister made it clear that he has no such information.
However, Shivakumar said several kinds of discussions are going on within the party circles and clarified that he cannot discuss everything with the media.
Later, Shivakumar participated in the Smskruthi Sangama 2023 programme organised at Gandhi Bhavan with Mysuru’s Suttur Math pontiff Sri Shivarathi Deshikendra Swamy and former Supreme Court judge Dr Shivaraj V Patil participating.
