Mangaluru: Contractor robbed at knife point - Accused held, 2 aides absconding

Mangaluru, Oct 21: An incident of stabbing and robbing a contractor took place near Abbakka Circle under the Ullal police station limits on Friday, October 20, in the afternoon.

The Ullal Police, who have arrested the accused rowdy sheeter in connection with the incident, have continued their search to find the other two accused who have gone absconding.

Hasainaar, a resident of Sundari Bagh, Ullal, stopped a contractor named Shamir (33), a resident of Ullala Mukkachcheri, who was going in a Swift car after finishing his namaz at Ullala Dargah on Friday afternoon.

Hasainaar asked Shamir if he would take up the contract work of a building, got into the car and went to Abbakka Circle. Two other accomplices off Hasainaar, Umar Nawab And Akbar Ullal also got into the car near the Abbakka Circle.

When the car reached Basti Padpu of Ullal, the accused stabbed Shamir's leg with a knife and when they did not get money, they robbed him of his car and a laptop. Shamir escaped from the hoodlums and went to Ullal police station.

As directed by ACP Dhanya Naik, a team led by inspector Balakrishna of Ullal police conducted a quick operation and arrested Hasainar in the middle of the night. The police seized the stolen car, a laptop and the knife used in the crime.
