Udupi: Serial holidays – Massive crowds throng beaches, temples

Udupi, Oct 23: A huge number of tourists arrived in the city on account of serial holidays on account of weekend, Maha Navami and Vijayadashami. Malpe beach and Sri Krishna temple is the city is overflowing with devotees and tourists.

In addition, Malpe, Padukare, Delta beach, Sea Walk way and parks are filled with tourists from other districts and states. Malpe beach which gets deserted by 9 pm was abuzz with activity on the weekend. Most of the vehicles plying in the city are bearing outstation and other state registration numbers. Traffic issue is also witnessed in many junctions of city.

People who are arriving to Malpe beach are playing dangerously in water. The velocity of wind is more and waves are violent. Though safe swimming zones are marked, tourists venture into danger zones having more depth of water. Lifeguards in the beach are expressing their helplessness as the tourists do not pay heed to their caution.

    Must keep an eye on Ghatta people. The ghatta families cook on the road side, cause litter and talk very loudly. Ghatta boys are always full tight

    VijayaSimha ,pumpwell,dont comment simply about other people who dont have a home.You too would do the same suppose you too were in their position.What would you do in case you didnt have a chance to educate yourself ,brought up in that sceanario ?and go around searching for a job.?We are fast to comment about others but not think why they are doing it.

    Udupi has good beaches for people to enjoy and all efforts must be made to develop these tourist spots. I just remember the days back then in Manipal when I used to go these beaches and enjoy life

    Enough coast guard and other personnel must be ready in case of any unforeseen incidents crop up! People hardly heed to public warning and are naturally attracted to proceed deep inside. rescuers must be all around (mogaveer heroes)
