Bangalore / Mangalore, Aug 25: Thanks to swift intervention by Ronald Colaco, chairman of International Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations (IFKCA), Mangalore city police commissioner has directed all the police stations around Mangalore under commissionerate, not to interfere with Christian prayer groups.

Colaco met the director general and inspector general of police (DG and IGP) of Karnataka N Achuta Rao in Bangalore on Thursday August 25 following the report on Daijiworld about police stations having asked Christian prayer groups to seek permission from police stations or the DC office for conducting prayers in Mangalore and around the regions.

Achuta Rao took immediate action and spoke to Mangalore City police commissioner who responded spontaneously and said that he has instructed all the police stations not to interfere with groups holding prayers in houses of any of the pastors.

"Is the same rule applicable to all communities before holding pujas, bhajans or any other kind of prayers in their houses with friends, relatives and neighbours?" Colaco questioned the IGP.

N Achutha Rao assured that all efforts will be taken to ensure that everybody has the freedom to practice their respective religions within the limits stipulated in the Constitution.

The delegation led by Ronald Colaco also requested him to direct the additional DGP (law and order) to expedite the process of forwarding the files pertaining to the criminal cases booked against Christian youth following the 2008 churches attacks. Rao took action on the spot, and ordered his officers bring up the files for signature and also instructed the officers concerned to dispatch them before evening to the home secretary. Colaco and the delegation thanked the DG and IGP profusely for his prompt action.

Colaco praised Denis D'Silva, Michael Baptist and Stanly, the key members of IFKCA for taking the initiatives in visiting all the police stations and found out that 331 persons have been booked under criminal cases in Dakshina Kannada district alone, as against 151 surmised by various groups. They have been instrumental in pushing the files to the level of additional DGP (law and order) which involved several days of hard work and sacrifice which Colaco thanked them abundantly for.

Colaco introduced Grace Pinto, managing director of Ryan International Group to the IGP, along with other personalities of the delegation comprising Christian leader Felix D'Souza Taccode, IFKCA general secretary Michael Baptist, State Convener Denis D'Silva, Christian leaders Rons Bantwal, Arun Mendes, Nigel Colaco, Agnes D'Souza, Udupi IFKCA president Louis Lobo, vice-president Prashanth Jathanna, Stanley K and Joylas Taccode.

It is extremely kind of Mr. Achuth Rao - D.G.P., Bangalore to take immediate action and pass necessary orders to the Law Enforcement Branch not to interfere with regard to any prayer meetings being held in individual houses. Mr. Achuta Rao is a person of great principals who believes in upholding the rights of all irrespective of caste and creed. I have known this fine man for nearly three decades as an upright - forthright and honest Police Officer. I was with him during his last visit to Mangalore when he met some his old friends.

I also had the opportunity to meet Ronald Colaco at the office of The Inspector General of Police in Mangalore. It is good to see him as a God-Father to several people

It is heartening to see that Our Police Department is looking into cases filed against Christians and ensure that due justice is rendered to all.

We have a good Police Force in Mangalore too where one has the liberty to approach them with any legitimate cause or a complaint. Mr. Alok Mohan - I.G.P., Mr. Seemanth Singh - Commissioner and Mr. Labu Ram have indeed identified themselves as PEOPLE'S MEN rendering justice to all. It is my sincere hope that this team continues for some more years.

Otherwise if we follow INDIAN constitution there is no such room for permission to prey!!? Put the church attackers into jail! Free the innocents with false charges before destiny take action!! Why our leaders attend every temple by disturbing faith of other berlievers?

Many prayer groups are misleading the common people...!!! It is sad that people have started several prayer groups in the name of Christianity..!!?? If God is one then there can not be so many divisions in Christianity...!!!??? I consider this development is nothing but politics in the name of God...!!!????

The Arch Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Bishop of Mangalore Rt. Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D'Souza and I.F.C.A. Chairman Sri Ronald Colaco, are being doing the running around C.M's Office, Police D.G. & I.G.P. and Commissioners office relentlessly to put forward the grievances or to plead for withdrawal of cases filed against defending Christian Youth during clandestine Church attacks orchestrated by fanatic and misguided majority community elements in Karnataka as a whole or in particular in Mangalore.
Other than the Religious Leadership we can find only a single Laity IFCA Leadership is representing entire Christian Community, is it not a strange phenomenon?? This sheds poor light on our amazingly educated and financially sound community.
Catholic Christians have got a beautiful grass root level organizing system called “Vaadya Zamath”, in a vaado consist of 30-40 households. But unfortunately other than the Community leader (so called Gurkar), we can find max 10-15 attend this hour long spiritual and charity discourse.
Same way in church we got umpteen numbers spiritual or charity based organizations and few social based organizations, off which attracts hardly 10% of the people living in the jurisdiction of church.
But unfortunately none of these above mentioned organizations strive hard to mould suitable Leaders who can lead our community socially and politically.
Recently a Priest put forward his valuable suggestion of molding Vaado level children in to an able, responsible and dynamic leaders of the future.
Hope his suggestion all community leaders will take and at least our future generation shall have more leaders like Ronald Colaco’s caliber.
    Jai Hind!!

GOD bless those people, who went
along with MR. RONALD COLOCO for
    disolving another trap created
    by some ANTI-CHRISTIAN FORCES.
MR. RONALD COLOCO, you are taking a lot of pains to preserve the
    freedom of the CHRISTIAN community,
also in bringing joy to the people of all religious background.

    As MR. ARJUN has indicated,
now the public has to get the answer
    from some government sources,
    who was actually behind this
    law of the jungle specifically
formed and targeted to cause fear and horror to
the CHRISTIAN community even scaring them to pray at their homes? Well, GOD is
going to expose that person or persons very soon. They are not going to escape from the net of
    GOD.

Lightening speed deliverance from Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG and IGP) of Karnataka N Achuta Rao can be interpreted as a victory to all Christian Prayer Meetings. Glad it might have been generated from the impact of new CM, Sri.Sadanda Gowda who is from our coastal area and to whose office, recent back to back visits paid by our Archbishop of Bangalore, Rev. Bernard Blasius Moras, Bishop of Mangalore Rt. Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’ Souza and of course from our dear Konkani Magnificent Team led by Manest. Ronald Colaso whose concern and unity with all denominations is itself an immediate Blessing (and many more to come) poured from above. Division is a comsuming loophole. Therefore, on Christen unity, how well may be taught but only by practice it will come to pass. Finally, Thanks to all the above named collaborated parties.

He should demand action on Bajrangdal and Ramnene members. There is no need for Mr. Ronald Colaco to plead on behalf of innocent people. These innocent people do not need any assurance from anyone. Mr. Colaco, please go ahead and tell the police to take action on those who are doing harm to society and community.
